I find myself constantly impressed with the LineageOS community. Formed from the remains of CyanogenMod, the project has continued to add support for new devices and maintain most of CM's library. Since our last post, Lineage has added support for a handful of Xiaomi phones and updated the Wi-Fi Nexus 9 to LOS 14.1.

June Nexus/Pixel factory images and OTA files are now available for download, includes fix for Pixel freezing

Google is rolling out new Android builds for its devices today, but it'll take a few days for the OTA to reach your device the old-fashioned way. If you want, the system images and OTA files are already available for sideloading. Pixel owners who have been experiencing freezes might not want to wait. Google says this update should address that problem.

It's the first day of May, and Google is wasting no time releasing the May 2017 factory images and OTAs for Nexus and Pixel devices. Just like last month, the security update has reached the Pixel/Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, and Nexus 9.

Android 7.1.2 images and OTA files are now live for Pixel and Nexus devices

After just posting the April security patch builds based on Android 7.1.1 moments ago, Google has now published Android 7.1.2 builds for Pixel and Nexus devices. You can find the images here and the OTAs here. The Nexus Player and Pixel C started to receive 7.1.2 just days ago.

OTAs for the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Nexus Player are live.

[Update: 7.1.2 builds] Nexus and Pixel factory images and OTAs for April 2017 are now available

Factory images and full OTA images for the April security patch are now available for the range of Nexus and Pixel devices. The Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, and Nexus 9 all have their respective images up. The Nexus Player and Pixel C appear to be lagging behind at the time of this writing. Build information follows.

Pixel and Nexus March 2017 factory images and OTAs are live, plus new security bulletin

Factory images for the March 2017 security update for most supported Pixel and Nexus devices are now up on Google's developer sites here and here. That includes the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Pixel C, Nexus 9 (+LTE), and Nexus 6. Builds for the Pixels are NOF27B for all variants except devices on Rogers, which should use build NOF27C.

The Nexus Player appears to be left out of the March updates at this point.

You can find the accompanying security bulletin here, which as usual lists a significant number of security threats that have now been eliminated.

Android 7.1.1 will be the end of the line for the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 - no 7.1.2 updates seemingly planned

Google's blog post announcing Android 7.1.2 today came with some implicit news for owners of the Nexus 6 and 9, but they probably could have seen it coming: this is the end of the line. Both devices are not included in Google's "final release" list for 7.1.2.

We're expecting to launch the final release of the Android 7.1.2 in just a couple of months, Like the beta, it will be available for for Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, and Pixel C devices.

Google generally doesn't comment on specifically which updates will EOL a given device, but both the 6 and 9 are past the end of the support windows published by Google - October 2016.

It's that time of month again—Google has posted updates for Nexus and Pixel devices, and there's a new security bulletin full of scary things. As usual, the OTAs are going to be rolling out to Google devices in the next few days, but you can grab the files right now and do the update manually.

Android 7.1.1 factory images and OTA updates live for Pixel / XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, 5X, 9 (+LTE), Player

Android 7.1.1 factory images and OTA files are live for a big handful of devices this morning, you can get the factory images here and the OTAs here. Verizon provided details of the Pixel version of the OTA earlier this morning, and you can probably expect your Pixel or Pixel XL will also be getting the awaited lift-to-check and double-tap to check gestures as part of the software upgrade.
