The enTourage eDGe Dualbook is one of the more interesting devices released last year due to its 2 screens - a 7" touchscreen LCD and a 6" e-Ink. Similar to the Spring Design Alex eReader, the Dualbook lets you read ebooks on one screen while simultaneously Googling, browsing Wikipedia, checking email, and doing anything Android lets you do on the other screen. However, if you find yourself reading late at night, just throw the book over to the LCD screen, and suddenly you can read in the dark. Pretty cool, eh?

The tablet/eReader features a 1.2GHz Marvell ARMADA PXA168 CPU, 3GB internal memory, a microSD slot, Android 1.6 (although a 2.2 ROM is supposedly floating around), a 2MP front-facing camera, a speaker, a microphone, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Done With This Post?
It's no secret that Verizon loves Android, so it shouldn't be a surprise that it's featured heavily in a leaked roadmap.

Yesterday, BGR confirmed the Droid Pro, Droid 2 World Edition, and Motorola Tablet, and now PhoneArena is reporting that they have a "trusty source" inside Verizon that has given them a sneak peek at the device release schedule for the rest of the year.

Let's start with September: we "should" see the Droid 2 World Edition released, and it will be the first Android phone to support both GSM and CDMA networks. Of course, Android isn't just for us nerds, and therefore it's reasonable to assume that Verizon wants Android devices in the hands of as many people as possible, even if those people only pay them $50 or so upfront.

Done With This Post?

Those of you who actually managed to get your hands on an enTourage eDGe dualbook ebook reader/tablet/notepad device thingy (it's been in low supply lately) and have been waiting for it to be rooted just got your wish. Colin O'Dell and myself with the help of Sean and Jamezelle were able to root the eDGe, with full adb access.

How We Did It

No exploit or hack was needed. We were able to decipher the developer's debug password and use it to enable adb, which just so happens to be running as root.

What It Achieves

This root finally opens the eDGe to developers, enabling the debug bridge and allowing root apps to be used.

Done With This Post?
