<p>Remember the bug-fix build for the HTC Thunderbolt that we leaked <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/04/17/exclusive-download-build-2-11-605-19-for-the-htc-thunderbolt-no-its-not-ics-but-it-does-fix-some-things/" target="_blank">last month</a>? Turns out Verizon decided it was OTA material, because the support docs were just updated with details of this same build (2.11.605.19).</p>
<p>The OTA brings a handful of fixes to Big Red's first LTE device:</p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/2012-05-09_11h39_34.png"><img style="display: inline" title="2012-05-09_11h39_34" alt="2012-05-09_11h39_34" src="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/2012-05-09_11h39_34_thumb.png" width="668" height="623"/></a></p>
<p>The update should begin rolling out shortly, but if you don't feel like waiting, you can always hit up <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/04/17/exclusive-download-build-2-11-605-19-for-the-htc-thunderbolt-no-its-not-ics-but-it-does-fix-some-things/" target="_blank">this post</a> and flash our leak. <p>Last week, <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/02/09/htc-sheds-some-light-on-ics-updates-puts-the-sensation-sensation-4g-and-sensation-xe-at-the-front-of-the-line-for-otas-at-the-end-of-march/" target="_blank">HTC detailed the Android 4.0 update for several handsets</a>, but many U.S. models were noticeable absent form the list. Today, the Taiwanese manufacturer has taken to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/notes/htc/ice-cream-sandwich-updates-the-north-american-edition/10150786212353084" target="_blank">its Facebook page</a> to highlight some of the North American handsets that will see the update, most of which are on Verizon. It's a shorty, but goodie:</p>
<ul>
<li>Thunderbolt</li>
<li>Rhyme</li>
<li>Droid Incredible 2</li>
<li>Rezound</li>
<li>Raider (Rogers and Bell in Canada)</li>
</ul>
<p>Sadly, HTC left out any timeline details, so we really have no idea of knowing when to expect these update to roll out.</p>
<p>Stay tuned for more info on HTC's ICS update releases, as it has yet to announce Sprint, AT&#38;T, and T-Mobile device update plans.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/02/17/htc-announces-ice-cream-sandwich-updates-for-some-north-american-phones-thunderbolt-rhyme-droid-incredible-2-and-raider-all-make-the-cut/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>After spending some <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/topics/phones-devices/dell/venue-dell/" rel="nofollow">reviewing the Dell Venue last week</a>, I have a renewed interest in the world of all things combining Dell and Android. But, let's face it, Dell hasn't exactly had a great track record with its Android hardware, particularly its first attempt at a tablet - the <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/02/02/dell-streak-7-review-roundup-meh-would-be-an-understatement/" rel="nofollow">universally-disliked Streak 7.</a></p>
<p>The Streak name, then, does evoke a bit of a grimace for most folks familiar with Android hardware. The Streak 5 wasn't much of a winner, either - particularly because it shipped with the ancient Android 1.6, and had an OS update delay that could only be described in Samsung proportions.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/05/18/rumor-dell-streak-pro-10-inch-tablet-packing-tegra-2-keyboard-dock-weighs-as-much-as-a-xoom/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>After being thoroughly unimpressed with the sleek and sexy <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/05/08/review-the-samsung-droid-charge-or-how-slow-buggy-software-ruined-a-phone/" rel="nofollow">DROID Charge last week</a>, and knowing that the Venue was next on my device-review checklist, I was prepared for yet more disappointment. Let's face it - Dell has been the butt of quality control, technical support, and advertising (Dude! you're...) jokes for years now. Whether or not it has at all been deserved is another matter entirely - after all, Dell is a hugely successful company (I happen to be writing this review on a Dell netbook, in fact).</p>
<p>The Venue, then, is a device I went in having some doubts about.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/05/15/dell-venue-review-it-really-is-better-than-you-would-expect/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>Today we're going hands-on with Dell's latest Android smartphone: the Venue. I apologize for my voice being even more nasally than usual - I've been a bit under the weather.</p>
<p>To put it briefly, the Venue is actually a pretty good phone - it's just a little... old, at this point. Still, it has made me a believer that Dell, a computer manufacturer, can make a good piece of smartphone hardware (and actually some pretty decent custom software as well, ala Stage UI.) It's also about as close to stock Android as you can get without buying a Nexus S, so that's a plus.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/05/12/hands-on-video-dell-venue-initial-impressions/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>Although not yet officially announced by Dell, Amazon has made the Wi-Fi-only version of the Dell Streak 7 tablet <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Streak-Wi-Fi-Tablet-Gray/dp/B004QZASJ8/ref=dp_return_1?tag=androidpolice-20&#038;ie=UTF8&#038;n=541966&#038;s=pc">available</a> for pre-order on its website for $379.99.</p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/dell-streak.png"><img alt="dell streak" src="http://cdn.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/dell-streak_thumb.png" width="668" height="212"/></a></p>
<p>The 4G version of Dell's latest tablet went on <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/02/02/dell-streak-7-available-now-are-you-getting-one/">sale</a> over a month ago, however its unsubsidized price on <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Streak-Android-Tablet-T-Mobile/dp/B004KA9VK6?tag=androidpolice-20">Amazon</a> is $449.99. So, the sub-$400 price tag of the WiFi version of this tablet may be an attractive proposition for first time tablet purchasers looking to get their feet wet.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/01/07/ces-2011-hands-on-with-t-mobiles-dual-core-hspa-dell-streak-7-android-tablet/" target="_blank">Reviews of this tablet</a> were lacklustre but it may be a compelling device for those looking for a smaller form-factor.</p>
<p>The specifications of this version of the tablet are largely the same as the earlier 4G model, only lacking the cellular radio:</p>
<ul><li>7" WVGA display </li>
<li>Android 2.2 with Dell Stage UI </li>
<li>5MP rear camera </li>
<li>1.3 MP front-facing camera </li>
<li>16GB internal SD storage plus SD card slot </li>
<li>WiFi </li>
<li>Bluetooth </li>
<li>GPS </li>
</ul><p>There is no word yet on when the device will start shipping.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/03/18/deal-streak-7-wifi-only-android-tablet-on-sale-for-379-on-amazon/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>The time for Froyo has finally come for Dell's first Android device - and I'm sure all 12 US and Canadian Streak owners jumping for joy. Dell <a href="http://en.community.dell.com/dell-blogs/Direct2Dell/b/direct2dell/archive/2011/02/23/froyo-update-is-here-for-att-and-rogers-streak-5-customers.aspx" rel="nofollow">announced today</a> that it has begun a rollout of the long-awaited bump to Android 2.2 for its tablet-phone in North America, dragging only a few months behind its UK counterpart. The update, to be clear, is an OTA. The Dell release suggests rebooting your phone will detect the update if the rollout has reached you.</p>
<p>Dell originally promised the update <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/10/13/dell-streak-getting-2-2-froyo-update-much-sooner-than-december-31st/" rel="nofollow">before December 31st</a> of 2010, so that makes this update nearly two months overdue.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/02/23/dell-streaks-on-rogers-and-att-finally-getting-froyo-ota/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>The cat's out of the bag on Dell's upcoming (all the way into early 2012) Android offerings thanks to leaked slides showing their phone and tablet roadmaps. Incidentally, the slides also reveal that the next version of Android (after Honeycomb) will be called &#34;Ice Cream&#34; instead of what we previously though, &#34;Ice Cream Sandwich.&#34; It's interesting to know that devices are already being planned to run on this technically unannounced version of Android, but what will surprise you even more are the amazing specs.</p>
<p>These are the specs of Dell Hancock, expected to be released in Q3 of this year:</p>
<ul>
<li>Android Ice Cream </li>
<li>Dual-core processor </li>
<li>4.0&#34; qHD display </li>
<li>8 megapixel rear camera </li>
<li>1.3 megapixel front-facing camera </li>
<li>1080p video capture </li>
<li>Slide-out QWERTY keyboard </li>
</ul>
<p>The Millennium, pegged for release in Q4, is similar:</p>
<ul>
<li>Android Ice Cream </li>
<li>Dual-core processor </li>
<li>4.3&#34; qHD display </li>
<li>8 megapixel rear camera </li>
<li>VGA front-facing camera </li>
<li>1080p video capture </li>
<li>DLNA capable </li>
</ul>
<p>There are pictures of each device, but don't expect to learn anything about Ice Cream from them - they appear to be running the same Dell Stage UI as the Streak and Streak 7, which is based on Froyo.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/02/16/dell-roadmap-leak-reveals-four-tablets-and-two-ice-cream-running-phones/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>Do you have $500 laying around to spend on a smartphone? Well then, have we got a deal for you - Dell's most attractive piece of Android hardware to date, the Venue (formerly know by its code name &#34;Thunder&#34;), is up for grabs on <a href="http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=MSCMAB1&#038;c=us&#038;l=en&#038;s=dhs&#038;cs=19&#038;model_id=mobile-venue" rel="nofollow">Dell's website right now.</a> At $500, it's not too exorbitant a price for an unlocked handset, and you get your choice of frequency band versions: AT&#38;T or T-Mobile. You can expect it ship by the 18th of this month.</p>
<p>There will be no contract pricing, at least for the moment. The plus side to that, of course, is that on T-Mobile you can get a reduced pricing plan as a pay-as-you-go customer off contract.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/02/03/dell-venue-on-sale-now-for-500-from-dell-shipping-february-18th/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post?
