When the official 4.2 update started rolling out to the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity, one of the things I was most looking forward to was switching to the updated launcher. Unfortunately, ASUS decided to omit this option, which happens to be readily available on the TF300 with 4.2. Feeling disappointed and sad, I turned the TF700 off and set it to the side.

Thanks to a comment left on our TF700 Jelly Bean ROM download post from earlier today, my spirits were once again lifted.

Got a dog bite? Maybe a bee sting? Perhaps you're just feeling sad? Google's got a little mid-week pick-me-up in the form of a sizeable giveaway. To promote the new look of the Play Store and the Google Play Twitter account, they're giving away ten Nexus 10 tablets, seven Nexus 7 tablets, four Nexus 4 phones, and no less than a hundred $10 gift cards to the Google Play Store. Unfortunately for our international readers, the sweepstakes is only for US residents.

ASUS started pushing Android 4.2.1 to the Transformer Pad Infinity exactly one week ago, but if you've been waiting for the blob to hit the company's download site for whatever reason, it's available now. This makes available build 10.6.1.14.4 to those who wish to manually flash (or need to recovery after a catastrophic event).

Currently the full firmware download is available for the US (United States), WW (Worldwide), and TW (Taiwan) versions of the HD tablet.

Update 4/9/13: The deal is back today.

Those who missed out on eBay Daily Deals' recurring deal on the Nexus 7 ($30 VISA gift card, ear buds, 32GB Nexus 7 for $259.99) the last four times we've seen it, Daily Deals has pulled through once again, this time with a significantly better price. Though the 32GB slates up for grabs are refurb and don't come with a random pair of earbuds, $189 is an undeniably good price for a 32GB Nexus 7 which, if new, would cost buyers $249.99 from the Play Store.

At the beginning of March, ASUS became the first company to push Android 4.2 to a non-Nexus device when the update came to the TF300. At the time, the company promised 4.2 for the TF700 and MeMO Pad Smart sometime "in the second quarter." We're now three days into Q2, and ASUS has started pushing the update to the TF700 (Infinity). Talk about delivering on promises.

It seems that no company can keep a secret for very long. With I/O fast approaching, Google and ASUS are in the spotlight again as details creep out about a pending refresh to the Nexus 7. According to Reuters, two undisclosed sources have leaked plans for a likely release date around July with pricing as low as $149. The tipsters also let slip that the revised tablet will be packing an unspecified Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and that Google hopes to ship 6-8 million units before the start of 2014.

The Transformer Prime (or TF201 if you're nasty) had its share of GPS problems when it first came out. So much so that the company began sending out dongles to fix the issue. Well, that didn't prevent a class action lawsuit from being filed and, as a result, ASUS has settled the case. What does that mean for you? Well, if you purchased a TF201 between December 1, 2011 and February 19, 2013 and you didn't get a refund, then you qualify to receive $17 and a free GPS dongle.

The global rollout continues as Google adds yet another country to the list of places you can order a 16GB Nexus 7. The device showed up in the Play Store today for Rs. 15,999 (roughly $295 USD). No other variants of the tablet appear to be available, though. It's 16 geebees or bust. Currently the store says it will ship by April 5th, but you can order now.

Currently, the only content offerings from Google available on the Play Store are apps and books, but with the pace of advancement lately, it wouldn't surprise us if other services showed up before too long.

Update 3/23/13: The deal is back yet again today.

Update 12/01/12: It's back one more time.

That headline seem oddly familiar? It should, because the same seller had an identical deal going about a week ago. And now it's back.

For today only, you can get a brand new, in box 32GB Nexus 7 for $229 shipped. That's your price out the door - unless you live in New Jersey, that is.
