Some Best Buy Locations Selling The New Nexus 7 Early, Amazon Is Shipping Now, Wal-Mart Rumored As Well

If you've ordered the 2013 Nexus 7 model from Best Buy, check your email - at least one Android Police staff member has received confirmation that the new tablet is ready for in-store pickup. Twitter was alight last night and this morning with some retail customers who managed to snag one off the shelves as well. Both 16GB and 32GB models are apparently being sold freely at at least some brick-and-mortar locations, at the standard $229 and $269 prices.

Nexus 7 2013 Listings Show Up On Staples Website In 16GB And 32GB Flavors

Prospective second-gen Nexus 7 buyers, you've got one more option for when the Play Store is (probably) overwhelmed on July 30th. Staple has already posted pages for the 16GB and 32GB WiFi versions of the new Nexus 7, though of course you can't buy one just yet - they're both marked as out of stock. Staples was one of 11 retail partners mentioned in the Google announcement. The prices are the standard $229.99 and $269.99, respectively.

Download: Wallpapers From The New Nexus 7 [Updated]

Here are the wallpapers from the new Nexus 7 that is now available for pre-order and was shown off in full detail yesterday. From what I can tell, there is only one really new wallpaper compared to what came with the previous Nexuses, and it's the one that the new Nexus 7 comes with selected by default. I ran it through TinEye and Google's Reverse Image Search, and it's the only one that returned no existing hits.

[All Good Things...] The Original Nexus 7 Is No Longer For Sale In The Google Play Store

The Nexus 7 has been a solid little workhorse, but now that the next generation is in, it's time to put it out to pasture. The original Nexus tablet is no longer available for purchase in the U.S. This is just a bit surprising - I had expected Google to try and get the last bit of stock out with a closeout sale. The various pages for the 16GB and 32GB models plus the AT&T and T-Mobile 3G versions are still up, but there's no option to buy.

Here Is The New ASUS Nexus 7, Sporting A Fresh Wallpaper [Gallery]

Yesterday, @evleaks scored several press images of the new Nexus 7, which is expected to be revealed by Google on July 24th. Not even a day later, we now have an exclusive gallery of more recent press shots that not only offer several more angles, but also showcase what I believe is the new default Android 4.3 Nexus wallpaper which replaces the Android 4.2 wallpaper seen in the previous pictures.

ASUS PadFone Updated To Version 10.2.4.1, Includes Software Enhancements And Improved Stability

The PadFone is a versatile piece of tech, a smartphone that plugs into a tablet that plugs into a dock. It's an interesting concept, and if you don't use it that often, the three pieces together could probably get you through more than a couple of days on a single charge. Now ASUS is providing a firmware update to the original PadFone, bringing about stability improvements along with stronger WiFi and Bluetooth connections.

The New Nexus 7 Breaks Cover, Allegedly Spotted In Leaked Video And Pics

With Google's chitchat breakfast event with Sundar Pichai coming up next week, speculation has been rampant that a new Nexus 7 could be imminent. Just like clockwork, the leaks are beginning to flow. A new video purports to show the second edition of Google's 7-inch slate, and it's accompanied by some snapshots.

The device certainly looks legit with the sideways Nexus branding on the back, matching a previous leak. An Asus logo is also clearly visible at the bottom.

[Deal Alert] Refurbished ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 32GB Is $280 After Rebate ($150 Off) From Tiger Direct

Looking for a high-res tablet, and don't mind getting a model that's a bit long in the tooth? Then you'll want to check out Tiger Direct's listing for the 32GB Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700. This 1920x1200 10" tablet is a pretty great deal at $279.99, assuming you're OK with a somewhat outdated Tegra 3 processor, a refurbished model, and a $50 mail-in rebate. Jeez, but I wish those things would die - the rebates, not the Tegra 3.
