Google is set to (probably) announce the new and improved Nexus 7 tomorrow, but we've been taking a look at the device ahead of time. Some of the specs from previous rumors were dead on, and some not so much. We've got all the details and benchmarks right here. So let's dive in.

The new Nexus 7 is no secret. It's been leaked, leaked, and leaked again. But up until today, we hadn't seen the actual device in the flesh. One lucky soul was able to get his hands on a retail version of the new N7 and has provided us with essentially every angle, pose, nook, and cranny of the device – he even offered up a couple of pictures of the box.

Yesterday, @evleaks scored several press images of the new Nexus 7, which is expected to be revealed by Google on July 24th. Not even a day later, we now have an exclusive gallery of more recent press shots that not only offer several more angles, but also showcase what I believe is the new default Android 4.3 Nexus wallpaper which replaces the Android 4.2 wallpaper seen in the previous pictures.

The new Nexus 7 leaks just keep on coming. The venerable @evleaks has just posted a high-resolution press shot of the still-unannounced tablet. It matches up with previous leaks quite nicely.

The image shows a device with big top and bottom bezels, a front notification light, and dual speakers on the back. The rear-facing camera is there, as is the sideways Nexus logo. Also, note the odd placement of the front-facing camera.

Google can play dumb all it wants – we know a new Nexus 7 is coming, and apparently so does Best Buy. A leaked ad from the electronics retailer shows the new Nexus 7 set to arrive on July 30th for the previously rumored price of $229.99.

It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that a new Nexus 7 is just around the corner, but a few more plausible details are leaking out. According to some info passed to Engadget, the updated 7-inch slate will come with Android 4.3, wireless charging, and SlimPort video out. It also confirms the dual cameras from the last leak.

We don't know what version of wireless charging will be featured, assuming this is legit.

Yesterday's video for the allegedly "new" Nexus 7, widely speculated to be revealed at Google's July 24th event, was a bit low-fi to get the details. Today CNET has a new image, purportedly from the same source, that gives us a clearer image of that specification sticker on the back of the tablet. There's just one new piece of information that we couldn't make out before, under the "Memory" entry: DDR3LM 1600 256M*16.

With Google's chitchat breakfast event with Sundar Pichai coming up next week, speculation has been rampant that a new Nexus 7 could be imminent. Just like clockwork, the leaks are beginning to flow. A new video purports to show the second edition of Google's 7-inch slate, and it's accompanied by some snapshots.

The device certainly looks legit with the sideways Nexus branding on the back, matching a previous leak. An Asus logo is also clearly visible at the bottom.

The new Nexus 7 is all but imminent at this point, and it sounds like we may finally have a launch date for the much-anticipated sequel to Google's small tablet: July 20th, according to OfficeMax documents obtained by Engadget. Corroborating an earlier leak from Android Central, those same documents also allege a $270 price point for the 32GB version of the device (AC's leak also says the 16GB will be priced at $230).

We must be achingly close to a new 7-inch slate from Google with all the Nexus 7 sales going on. This time the already low price over at Staples is getting even lower with the application of a $30 coupon code. This is a solid deal, even for last year's model.
