'LG Nexus 4' Shows Up In Carphone Warehouse's Inventory - Can We Make This Official Already?

Oh, look - another LG Nexus leak! I'm already convinced that this is the worst kept secret in Nexus history. Alas, the shiny little beast has made its way into Carphone Warehouse's inventory system as the "LGNexus4," and it looks like we'll be seeing two color variations of the device: white and black.

While we've heard the device could be called the "LG Optimus G Nexus" (effectively making it the worst Nexus name in the history of everything), rumors are still flying around every day. One thing's for sure, though: it's highly unlikely that it will be called the "Nexus 4;" after all, Carphone Warehouse does call the Nexus S the "nexus 2."

Stay tuned - I'm sure this isn't the last piece of leaked info we'll see in the growing LG Nexus saga.

More Images Of The Purported LG Nexus Show Up, Look To Be From The Same Source As Before

At this point, we've all seen the shiny, glistening, sparkly LG Nexus. Opinions of the look seem to be split right down the middle - some users love it, while others can't stand the thing. Personally, I'm on the fence about it, and I'm equally as skeptical if this is even the final design. For all we know, the prototype was designed this way on purpose so everyone would wonder what Google is thinking (hey, it could happen).

Whether you love it or hate it, there's no doubt you want to see more of it. And now you can - more images of the device showed up on XDA, and they appear to be from the same source as yesterday, now going by the moniker 4shael.

Evidence Mounts For LG Nexus – Caseless Photos, NenaMark Results Surface

Earlier this evening, we ran a story containing photos of a purported LG Nexus device obtained (and subsequently photographed) by an XDA user. The photos, along with subtle hints like the presence of a Qualcomm modem and kernel, and the presence of a corroborating FCC filing, had us leaning toward the "legit" side of the rumor spectrum.

Now, it looks like a user of a Belarusian forum called Baraholka (which roughly translates to "flea market") has more photos of the device, posted last week – this time lacking what appeared in previous photos to be a shell or casing that disguised the device's real curves (similar to the case we saw on early Galaxy SIII units).

Leak: Alleged Images Of The LG Nexus Show Up On XDA Forums

We've been hearing rumors about an LG Nexus for a while now. At first, we were skeptical. However, as the evidence piles up, we're becoming increasingly convinced that this rumor is indeed legit.

Now, a set of photos have surfaced over at the XDA forums that appear to seal the deal.

The first thing you'll probably want to check out in the above shots is the About screen. The device is running Android 4.1.2 and is dubbed "mako," which just so happens to be a type of shark, keeping it in line with the naming scheme of all previous Nexus devices.

Rumor: Google And Samsung Working On A 10.1" Nexus Tablet With A 2,560 x 1,600 Display - Could This Be The Manta?

I know, I know - more rumors. Right now we all have a bad taste in our mouths from a bit of untruth that was spread throughout the community last week, but it's hard to look the other way when something this juicy turns up. CNet has reportedly gotten confirmation that Google has once again teamed up with Samsung for a Nexus device, only this time the pair are working on a 10.1-inch tablet.

The real story here, though, is the display resolution. According to analyst Richard Shim of NPD DisplaySearch, who shared this information with CNet, the device is said to clock in at a massive 2,560x1,600 resolution, putting the PPI (pixels per inch) at a whopping 299.

Japanese Customer Shares Photos Of A 32GB Nexus 7 That Arrived In A 16GB Nexus 7 Box

Well, that's one way to announce a new device. Today on Twitter, Japanese user @oppese posted two photos of a Nexus 7 tablet. The first photo shows the storage screen displaying 27.58GB of usable space (indicating a 32GB model), and the second shows packaging for a 16GB Nexus 7. We've heard before that some stores are setting up a place for the higher capacity Nexus 7 on their shelves, but it appears this unit was mistakenly sent to a customer ahead of the full launch.

Of course, it's not impossible to fake screenshots like this, but since we already have plenty of leaked info from retailers to corroborate, it's looking more and more like this device is real.

The Customization Center, Project Roadrunner Rumor Was An Elaborate Hoax And Excellent Rumor Mill Case Study

The rumor mill giveth and the rumor mill taketh away. Late Sunday night, a commenter on our site posted a surprising confession: he was the source of several rumors regarding Android 4.2. Initially, we confirmed that this commenter was the same who had sent us some different yet equally fantastic stories. Our batch hinted that Robert Downey Jr. might have been hired to introduce the new Nexii for the next couple years, for example. Now, Android & Me has posted a retraction of the initial article stating that Android 4.2 would contain a Customization Center and Project Roadrunner.

However, the commenter known as Peter claimed that a certain set of Android rumors were not a part of his elaborate and entertaining ruse.

The rumor mill is going strong with Nexus hearsay now, and Android & Me is currently leading the pack with details about the upcoming version of Android and at least one of the devices that will run it. Thanks to "an inside source" A&M is reporting more details about the "customization center," updates to Google Play and Now, and a new feature called "Project Roadrunner" that we haven't previously heard of.

Clues: Android 4.2 May Already Be Running On A New Phone, And A New Nexus Tablet - Both Motorola?

As we come ever-closer to launch of the next version of Android, our server logs are picking up more and more traffic from devices running it. We know for a near-certainty at this point that the next version of Android will be 4.2 (actual name seems to still be Jelly Bean, based on build numbers). What we don't know is what device is going to launch to introduce this, the latest iteration of our beloved OS. But we think we have some clues.

MoDaCo Sources Share Alleged Spec Sheet For LG's Rumored Nexus Device, Including Snapdragon S4 Pro And Android 4.2

If you happen to have any grains of salt handy, now would be a good time to pull them out. MoDaCo is reporting that sources have filled the site in with details on the rumored Nexus device to come out of LG. The specs sound about in line with what we would expect from a device of this caliber, sporting a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, Android 4.2, and a curious 8GB/16GB set of storage options. Given Google's preference for leaving off microSD slots, we're a little surprised to see 16GB as the maximum size option. Sure, they did it with the Nexus 7, but that was an incredibly inexpensive tablet.
