[Deal Alert] BACtrack's Mobile Bluetooth Breathalyzers Are On Sale At Touch Of Modern Until August 3rd

At the end of last year, I reviewed BACtrack's police-grade Bluetooth mobile breathalyzer. I came away extremely impressed (and drunk), but it was quickly pointed out in the comments that $150 is pretty pricey for such a gadget. While the price has since dropped to $120, it's still out of many users' reach. Good news! Touch of Modern is selling it for $90 till August 3rd. That's a solid deal.

Instagram Android App Susceptible To Session Hijacking Due To Unencrypted HTTP Transfers

If you use Instagram's Android app, complete strangers could be looking at your photos of appetizers and makeup techniques right now! ...which is kind of the point of Instagram, I suppose. But security researcher Mazin Ahmed discovered that the app uses standard HTTP to transmit photos, cookies, and authentication (including usernames and unique IDs), instead of the encrypted HTTPS protocol. As Mr. Mackie is so fond of saying, that's bad.

Swiftkey Updated With Badly Needed Performance Improvements, New Themes, And Sales

Swiftkey was recently updated with a theme store and a free price tag, but there were still some nagging concerns. While Swiftkey offers good autocorrect, emoji, and swipe input, it also lags pretty noticeably in some instances. The new update will (allegedly) fix that.

LinkedIn's 3.4 Update Redesigns Profile Pages And Makes Them Easier To Edit

Say what you will about certain social networks, LinkedIn is the one basically all of us can agree isn't any fun to use. That's not its purpose. We go there either to get a job or to tell everyone about the job we just got. It's easy for people with stable employment to end up with profiles as current as their Myspace pages.

When the time does come to give the profile a quick touch-up, the latest version of the Android app hopes to make that experience just a bit nicer.
