Intel's New 'Silvermont' Architecture Will Offer Three Times The Peak Performance In Atom Processors, One Fifth The Power Consumption

Most smartphone manufacturers have chosen to ignore Intel's mobile offerings in favor of ARM chips, but Intel is hoping to change their minds with its latest microarchitecture. Today Intel unveiled Silvermont, which reportedly will result in new mobile chips with three times the performance of current-gen Intel Atom processors. Alternatively, Silvermont will enable Intel's next-gen Merrifield smartphone chips to achieve the same performance levels as Clover Trail+ with one-fifth of the power consumption.

[Great Deal] 'Changelog Droid' Free For 24 Hours With Coupon Code ($1.87 Off)

Changelog Droid, an app that not only shows changelogs of applications you have installed all in one convenient place but also monitors apps that you haven't installed and keeps history of changes over time, is on sale for 24 hours. And by sale I mean it'll cost you about free fifty. I've played around with the app for the last half an hour and found it to be very polished, pleasant to use, and, more importantly, actually handy. It even has a DashClock extension.

Since the Play Store doesn't allow apps to switch from free to paid, the developer is using the next best method - a coupon code.

[Initial Impressions] Google Glass Explorer Edition - I Feel Like Tony Stark [Video]

My Google Glass unit has finally arrived. I've had a few days to play with Google's fancy new heads-up display, so it's probably time for some first impressions. A full review will be coming at some point.

One of the most striking things about Glass is just how well put together the whole package is. Everything about the design, from the hardware, to the typography, to the cool little whoosh noises it makes just oozes polish. What's here is certainly not finished, but even in this state it is easily the slickest product Google has ever produced. Glass feels like the culmination of the new, design-focused Google.

Ship Just Got Real: Leviathan Warships Hits The Play Store, Available For Most Tablets

About three weeks ago, Paradox Interactive released what could possibly be one of the best game trailers we've ever seen. It was for its then-upcoming game Leviathan Warships, and was chock-full of more ship puns than you can shake a stick at.

In fact, it was so good they decided to release a second trailer, with even more puns.

If you've had enough puns (I'm kidding – there's no such things as too many puns) and are ready to actually play the game, it's now available in the Play Store. The second trailer above notes a price of $10, but it's listed for $4.88 right now – most likely a launch sale price.

Samsung Aims To Block Root Exploits And Tighten Up Security With Latest Exynos Galaxy S4 Update, But This Is A Good Thing

Note from Artem: The post's author, Justin Case, also known as jcase in the Android community, is an xda Elite Recognized Developer, AP team member, and an all-around knowledgeable guy when it comes to Android's internals. When he speaks, I tend to listen.

The Android world was slapped in the face when well-known developer AndreiLux made a post in the XDA Galaxy S4 forum titled [Info] Rooting will be impossible on newer stock kernels.

His post has caused some unwarranted drama in the community, and I wish to set this subject straight as much as I can. AndreiLux is pointing out a new feature in Samsung Galaxy S4 kernel called CONFIG_SEC_RESTRICT_SETUID.
