[Deal Alert] The Photive PH-BTE50 Bluetooth 4.0 Earbuds With APTX Support Are Down To $30 On Amazon

I have tried more than a dozen Bluetooth earbud form factors, but the one I absolutely love for everyday use is the Jaybird Freedom Sprint / Plantronics Backbeat Go 2 design. Two small earbuds, one wire, and all the freedom you can think of. It's less cumbersome than the dog tag design (à la Jabra Tag) and lighter to carry around than the necklace style (think Samsung's Gear Circle or LG's Tone series).

New Gear SDK Includes Details About Samsung's Upcoming Round Smartwatch

Samsung was early to the recent smartwatch craze, but its products haven't exactly sold like gangbusters. While Samsung has made an Android Wear watch, it seems more interested in moving forward with its Tizen-based Gear platform, and the new Gear SDK offers a lot of detail about that next device. It'll be round, but that's not the only thing we know.

The watch will have a 1.18-inch round display with a resolution of 360x360.

NVIDIA Says 1080p 60fps GRID Game Streaming Is Now Live On SHIELD Devices

As part of NVIDIA's Shield console announcement several months ago, it said the GRID game streaming service would be getting an update to operate at 1080p and 60 frames per second. According to NVIDIA, that improvement is now live. If you have a SHIELD Tablet, you can test it right now. The Portable is only 720p, so it's a moot point there.

[Deal Alert] Snag This Snazzy 12000mAh Aukey External Battery For Just $18 With An Amazon Coupon

External batteries don't have to look good. They're big chunks of lithium-polymer wrapped in plastic and USB ports. But there's no reason that they shouldn't! Check out this Aukey 12000mAh battery, for example: nothing special, nothing fancy, just clean lines, a black case, and an obvious purpose. If you squint it kind of looks like an obelisk from 2001. Today Amazon has a coupon that drops the already-reasonable $24.99 price down to $17.99 - that's just .15 cents per milliamp-hour!

[lolwut] Nestle Replaces Kit Kat Logo With 'YouTube Break' On Thousands Of Wrappers In The UK

In order for a circle jerk to work, the stroking has to go both ways. Google did Nestle a solid when it named Android 4.4 after the company's easily-broken-chocolate-bar-sticks. Now Nestle is taking a moment to return the favor. In the UK, the company has replaced Kit Kat branding with the words "YouTube Break" on over 600,000 limited edition wrappers.

The stroking doesn't stop there. Nestle is making this change as part of its "Celebrate the Breakers' Break" campaign, where it pushes Kit Kat eaters to "YouTube My Break." They can do so by pulling out their phones and uttering those words immediately after "OK Google." YouTube will then pull up a playlist of popular videos.

Firefox 38 Goes Stable With A New Welcome Screen, Numerous Minor Visual Tweaks, And More

Firefox Beta exists in the Play Store as a separate app that's open to the public, but regardless, there comes a time when things should go stable. For Firefox 38, now's that time.

As you would expect, version 38 comes with a number of new features. In addition to the changes we detailed in the past, this release also greets users with a redesigned launch screen. The old pop-up has been replaced with a landing page that is inherently less jarring.

Livescribe+ Updates To Stable Release For Android, Is Now Available Globally

We've followed smartpen maker Livescribe's path to Android compatibility, starting with their announcement at CES that they would finally bring their app to the platform. It then released as a preview less than two weeks ago in select locales. Starting today, they are both dropping the "preview" label and making the app available globally.

Livescribe+ and its companion app collectively manage the connection and notes taken with their newest smartpen, the Livescribe 3. While there is software support for Android, the device needs to have KitKat 4.4.2 or newer as well as a Bluetooth 4.0 LE radio. If you aren't sure whether yours is compatible, just download Livescribe Link and it will tell you, even if you don't have a pen yet.
