While an open source remake is already available on Google Play, an official version of Transport Tycoon is coming to Android before the end of 2013. The game's original creator, Chris Sawyer, is designing and directing what is being billed as the definitive version of the simulation classic. Developers at Origin8 Technologies, who are also working on the game, have recreated and restored Sawyer's original code and are revising it for touchscreen devices.

Say what you will about Rovio – those folks know what pays the bills. The developer has announced its new game, and it's another Angry Birds title. This time we're turning to the Star Wars universe with Angry Birds Star Wars II. The new game will incorporate characters and locations from the prequel films. Yes, those ones.

This looks like an evolution of the previous Angry Birds Star Wars game, which was actually kind of enjoyable.

Update: The post has now been published.

Just a few minutes ago, it seems someone over at the official HTC blog pulled the trigger on an HTC One Mini teaser campaign a bit early. A post titled "Little Things That Pack a BIG Punch" was live for a few moments, only to quickly disappear. It was a pretty obvious hint at the upcoming HTC One Mini, which is perhaps best-known at this point as HTC's worst-kept secret.

If you're one of the lucky few with a T-Mobile-branded Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, there's an update headed your way. It's based on Android 4.1.2, just like the last one was, but it adds one notable new feature: LTE. Yes, the tablet's latent LTE radio has been enabled with this update.

The new version of the software is starting to hit devices today, but mashing the update button won't help. It's going to be arriving in waves until all tablets have gotten the notification around July 19th.

How about a little boost on this Monday morning? Picking up some new apps and games at drastically reduced prices might provide just the kick you need to attack the day like an unstoppable nuclear-powered robot tiger that shoots lightning from its eyes. Or something less outlandish... but these apps are still on sale either way.

T-Mobile has made quite a splash with two new policies unveiled at last week's "Boldest Moves Yet" event. The JUMP! plan combines a trade-in program and insurance policy that lets you upgrade your phone every six months for a $10 monthly fee, and the Simple Choice Family Plans have some great values for families looking to save some cash on multiple lines. Both are live as of yesterday - you can start shopping on T-Mobile's website, or walk into your friendly neighborhood retail store.

Professional portrait photographers swear by their expensive wireless shutter triggers - those little remote gadgets that let them take photos while waiving a stuffed bear at a toddler. Now someone is trying to bring the same functionality to smartphones with the oddly-named Muku Shuttr, a tiny Bluetooth remote that lets you snap photos without holding your smartphone. It's a novel idea, and the Kickstarter campaign has already passed its modest $10,000 goal with more than three weeks left.

We all like free things. We also like getting things done without hassle (that's why smartphones are a thing in the first place, right?). When those two things come together, though, it's worth talking about. Amazon must recognize this fact, as it's offering up some fantastic productivity apps today without charge.

Among the freebies, you'll find some pretty solid names:

It's hard to say how long these deals will go on – it may just be for today only.

Google+ user Дима Прокопенко has just given us a tantalizing, more complete look at the Moto X, posting a Rogers "Tech Experts" demo video that shows off some of the hotly-anticipated device's unique features.

Before we get to features, it's worth noting that the video indicates a Rogers launch "in August," as an exclusive for the Canadian carrier.

The video also shows off the Moto X's always-on voice commands, allowing users to query Google Search with their voice regardless of whether they're in the search app.

Robot Unicorn Attack's original web iteration was a moderately funny joke that morphed into an amazingly addictive game, and then morphed into a similarly insanity-fueling mobile game.

Building on the success of the original, Adult Swim Games has made Robot Unicorn Attack 2, which just recently made its Android debut and, happily, seems much more stable and playable than the buggy original.

Rather than trying to explain the sheer madness of RUA 2, we'll defer to Adult Swim's promotional trailer.
