You might have heard OnePlus has formed a dev team to build its OxygenOS ROM. They even did an AMA on the /r/Android subreddit today. Among the bits of info revealed by the team is the fact that OxygenOS won't be open source. Instead it will be a "real OS." Steve "Cyanogen" Kondik couldn't resist poking fun at that.
Just days after its 10th birthday, Google Maps is not resting on its laurels. Maps is rolling out its lane guidance feature to 15 new countries, all of which are in Europe:

Finally, we can quit hearing about the lack of Maps features in Liechtenstein! While it has been over 6 months since lane guidance was added in the USA, it's always better late than never. Read More

As part of a series of education-oriented product announcements, Dell is introducing the Venue 10, a Lollipop-enabled Android tablet. The device, which will have a "Pro" sibling that runs Windows 8.1, is set to debut in the spring and will be Google Apps for Education certified. While it will fall short of being a high-end tablet and may not have wide availability, it does have a few cool features.

Remember Curiosity? It's alright if you don't - it wasn't a very good game, despite having an interesting social concept. Basically a bunch of people continually tapped at an enormous digital cube clearing billions of virtual tiles, and only one of them would "win" by reaching the center. The Tootsie Roll center of that Tootsie Pop turned out to be Godus, a crowdfunded game that allows players to play god and influence the lives of tiny polygonal villagers. It's currently still in "early access" on Steam and available on Android as a work in progress.
Godus and its lead-in Curiosity (now removed from the Play Store) were created by Peter Molyneux and his team of developers at 22Cans. Read More

HTC Zoe is a social network of sorts built around video highlights. According to the latest update's changelog, the app now works on devices running the latest version of Google's mobile operating system, including the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9. Here it is on my updated HTC One M7.
That's not all this release has in store. The list of changes includes a new highlight engine that enables new themes, effects, and transitions. It also brings in support for higher-quality video, and you're able to download your own high-definition Zoes to your device. The discovery feed has apparently retrieved a tweak or two, but overall, the experience still looks largely the same.
