[Not So Exclusive] US Cellular joins Sprint in offering the LG V30+ alongside regular V30

Sprint was strutting around last week, telling us all that it was going to be the only "major carrier" to offer the LG V30+ this month. However, it turns out the accuracy of that statement really depends on your definition of "major." US Cellular has just announced that it has launched both the V30 and the V30+ on its major-ish network.

[Update: APK Download] First look at WhatsApp Business: Android app, landline number registration, and multiple accounts options

Although we've been hearing about WhatsApp Business forever, the service was officially announced one month ago and if you paid close attention to the FAQ page, you would have seen a survey where you could sign up to test WhatsApp Business. I totally missed that, but reader Hüseyin Filiz applied and thanks to him, we have our first look at WhatsApp Business.

The service is still in testing, so WhatsApp is asking for feedback from early testers regarding account setup, data migration from their existing WhatsApp app, automatic responses, and analytics.

Sony has added the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact to its Open Devices program

Sony has been a surprisingly developer-friendly Android phone maker, with its Open Devices program giving anyone the opportunity to build and flash custom versions of the OS firmware on its devices. A few days ago Sony published the relevant binaries for the latest AOSP version of Android 8.0 Oreo for a number of its phones, and now it's added two newer Xperia models.

The XZ1 and XZ1 Compact were launched at the end of August at IFA 2017 in Berlin. They're essentially the same as their predecessors, the XZ and X Compact, on the outside, with updated internals such as the Snapdragon 835.

This is the BlackBerry Motion, an upcoming Android phone with no keyboard in sight

Since BlackBerry got out of the hardware game, and TCL started building phones for the company previously known for its physical keyboard-toting business phones, we've seen a couple of new BlackBerry-branded devices. There was the modest Aurora (sans keyboard), specifically for the Indonesian market, and then there was the flagship KEYone, which was supposed to invoke memories of BlackBerry roots with its physical keyboard. It did so, to some extent, even if it was underwhelming in certain areas.

The next phone to be released under the BlackBerry name can now be seen in full, thanks to serial leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks).

Play Movies & TV v3.28 relocates movie trailers and adds language information to TV shows [APK Teardown]

After Google's event finished yesterday, a stream of app updates began rolling out. Among them, Play Movies and TV saw a relatively simple update, but it has a couple of changes that are worth pointing out. The thumbnails for movie trailers are gone, but you can still watch them by tapping on the cover art. Also, TV shows now include the language of captions and audio tracks. A teardown also shows there may be something happening with Disney Movies Anywhere.

[Hands on] Puzzle Fighter, a free-to-play tile-matching multiplayer game that actually isn't half bad

I have been waiting for years to see an official Puzzle Fighter game come to Android. When I first heard the game was finally in development, I have to say I had quite a few trepidations that Capcom would turn the game into yet another free-to-play shell of a once great tile-matching multiplayer game. While my concerns were valid seeing that it is indeed a free-to-play release chock full of in-app purchases, loot boxes, and multiple currencies, the puzzle-based multiplayer gameplay hasn't actually been altered all that much.
