This is very likely NVIDIA's 2017 refresh of the SHIELD Android TV, which may come in two sizes

There have been rumblings that NVIDIA was planning a refresh of its popular Android TV set top box at CES in January, and based on pictures we've obtained, that definitely seems to be true. While we don't have any specifications or features to share, we can show you what the new box(es!) and their accompanying control devices look like.

Visually, the new boxes and TV controller seem identical to the outgoing model - there's really nothing that's changed there as far as I can see. The gamepad, however, is sporting an overhauled design with some rather interesting geometric cues. I can't say I love the look, but the new shape does seem a little more ergonomic than the old controller.

Upcoming HTC Bolt leaked with 5.5-inch screen and no headphone jack

HTC might be responsible for building the new Pixel phones, but its name won't be on them. HTC is still working on its own HTC-branded devices, including the unannounced HTC Bolt. Noted leaker of things, Evan Blass has some images of this phone, and guess what it doesn't have... a headphone jack. What a time to be alive.

Pixel and Google Fall event rumor and leak fact check: Where were we right, where were we wrong?

Android Police has posted a rather exhaustive set of rumors over the past few months about Google's Pixel phones and other hardware that was unveiled at Google's October 4th event. We think that, now that we have most of the details, it's time to do a post-mortem on our coverage, and pull it all together into one place. We'll be going through this [roughly] chronologically and by two categories: Pixel phones... and everything else. Let's get started with the Pixel phones.

Pixel and Pixel XL

Marlin and Sailfish "Nexus" phones

Our rumors regarding these phones begin way back in April, nearly six months ago.

LeOops: LeEco accidentally reveals its big US launch lineup - two phones and four Android TVs

Well, LeEco's big October 19th US launch event seems to have been spoiled: what looks like the vast majority of its launch lineup just showed up on LeEco's website. The company appears to be prepping the storefront for the launch, but in the process revealed basically everything, including some prices, that it intends to announce on the 19th. Here's a list of those products.

Canadian carrier Rogers says Google Pixel is coming on October 20th

Leaks often happen right up to the last minute when a big announcement is happening, and today is no exception. Canadian carrier Rogers has posted on Facebook that the Pixel and Pixel XL are launching on October 20th. That's Canada, but I'd wager on the US date being the same. Will you be able to survive a few more weeks?

[Update: Quite Black too] Verizon and @evleaks reveal even more of the Pixel and Pixel XL, show off Really Blue and "Google Magic"

We know, we know, there are only a few more hours until the Google event, but details about the Pixel phones just keep on spilling. Our latest peeks come courtesy of Verizon Enterprises, which, as you can probably tell from the name, sells smartphones and plans to businesses, and prolific tech leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks). On Verizon's site, both Pixel and Pixel XL listings showed up on the "SmartPhones" page, but they didn't lead to any live listings; however, there's still some info we've gleaned.

Google Home will work with SmartThings out of the box

Google's new smart home hub, Google Home, will work with the Samsung-owned SmartThings platform out of the box, according to a source familiar with the companies' plans. We trust the quality of this information implicitly, so consider this rumor a '10' on the confidence scale, barring some sort of delay that leads to Google postponing the announcement.

Google Home would probably be near-dead on arrival without compatibility for some common smart home technology, and aside from Nest (for which we assume Home compatibility is a given), SmartThings is one of the most obvious choices. SmartThings hub devices work with a wide variety of smart home products, and making Google Home compatible with this platform will ensure that SmartThings users have another, non-Echo option for a smart home assistant and speaker device.

Images of Chromecast Ultra leak ahead of October 4th unveiling

As we are all acutely aware, Google is having a huge hardware event on October 4th, and in very un-Google fashion, it's aggressively advertising it. We're fairly certain at this point there will be a pair of Pixel phones and a few other goodies, including the 4K Chromecast Ultra. A few images of that device have now leaked courtesy of Evan "evleaks" Blass.

Exclusive: Google is planning a 'Pixel 3' laptop running the 'Andromeda' OS for release in Q3 2017

Two independent and reliable sources have confirmed to us that Google is planning a new Pixel laptop to be released in Q3 2017. The project, known internally as 'Bison' and by the informal nickname 'Pixel 3,' will likely be the first brand-new device to showcase Google's combined Android / Chrome OS 'Andromeda' operating system in a laptop form factor. Bison, then, would be the culmination of years of work by Google's Pixel team and Google's Android and Chrome OS teams.

We are extremely confident Google plans for the device to run Andromeda. We are also confident that Andromeda is a completely distinct effort from Google's current campaign to bring Android apps to Chromebooks, and that Bison would not be marketed as a Chromebook.

BlackBerry accidentally publishes details about DTEK60, could be based on unannounced, upgraded Alcatel Idol 4S

Earlier this year, BlackBerry released the DTEK50, a rebadged Alcatel Idol 4 with some extra BlackBerry security software on it. That phone didn't fare too well with critics. Now, the security-crazy company has mistakenly published the specs of the DTEK60, which looks to be a plus-sized, upgraded DTEK50. For what it's worth, the URL of the DTEK60's specifications page includes "donotpublish.html".
