With OnePlus' launch event scheduled for tomorrow, the internet today is a sieve before the unrestrained torrent of leaks. So here are some of the highlights we've seen today. We'll be keeping this updated with anything we see that's of interest. Unless, of course, it's so interesting that it warrants its own post. Read More
Back in March, we learned that Google may be working on a third device for 2017, called 'Taimen' (Google traditionally names products after fish). This third model would be bigger than the next Pixel and Pixel XL, codenamed 'Walleye' and 'Muskie' respectively. It's not known for sure that Taimen will be a larger Pixel phone, just that it will be larger in size than Walleye and Muskie.
Earlier today, we reported that Muskie has likely been cancelled, leaving Walleye and Taimen the only phones Google will reveal this year. Now it seems that Taimen may be manufactured by LG. Read More
The image you see at the top of this post is the OnePlus 5, the next smartphone to be launched by OnePlus. The phone, as announced today, will be fully detailed on June 20th. We have corroborated this information with a second source and are highly confident this is an accurate image. This also debunks an earlier alleged live image of the phone, which we can state confidently is not representative of the production device.
The image tells us a lot about what the phone looks like, but aside from a dual-camera array and what appears to be OnePlus's trademark mute switch, we really can't glean too much else in terms of features here. Read More
Google-owned Nest used to be one of the few companies selling WiFi home security cameras, but now everyone is doing it. While Nest still has a very polished solution, other companies are quickly closing in. So, what can Nest do to set itself apart? We've learned from a trusted source that Nest is on the verge of announcing a 4K home security camera, but it won't actually record in 4K. Instead, it uses the 4K resolution to power some cool zooming tricks. Read More
With the OnePlus 5 now confirmed for a summer release, design and spec leaks have started to emerge much more frequently. The successor to the popular flagship-on-a-budget OnePlus 3/3T is shaping up to be another powerful device, with rumors also suggesting it will have an in vogue dual camera set-up. Now, thanks to Android Authority, we have an image of an alleged prototype to whet our appetite further. Read More
HTC launched the U Ultra early this year, but the reviews were largely negative. Now, the company looks to be preparing for its "true" flagship in 2017 with the HTC U11. We've seen a few leaks of this device, but nothing as good as this. It seems someone who attended a briefing with the phone jumped the gun and posted their hands-on. We get plenty of angles on the phone and a demo of the new Edge Sense feature. Read More
We've been hearing about the "HTC Ocean" for months, and just the other day HTC finally teased it as part of the U line. We believed at the time it would simply be called the HTC U, but our old friend Evan Blass says the final name will be "HTC U 11." It's apparently HTC's way of bridging its old and new naming scheme. The HTC U, codenamed Ocean, is the hottest item in the rumor mill now that the Galaxy S8 has been announced. The last we heard about the U, it was supposed to launch in April with a Snapdragon 835, 5.5" WQHD display, 12MP back cam and 16MP front cam, and Android 7.1. The headline feature though is the sensors around the frame that can detect your squeezes and swipes across the edges.
Now Android Headlines seems to have come across the HTC U's presentation doc and thanks to it, we learn a bit more about the phone. Specs-wise, we have a confirmation about the processor, screen, and Android version, though there's no mention of either cameras' resolution. Read More
Ever since the Lenovo takeover, Moto's design language has changed pretty drastically. The unique material choices and dual front-facing speakers of yesteryear have been ditched for front-mounted fingerprint sensors, more obnoxious-looking cameras, and metal and glass designs. The latest edition of this comes in the form of the 2017 Moto X, which has just been leaked in several photos. It's not a looker. Read More
Technology leaks aren't uncommon in the first place, but pre-launch pictures and information regarding Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 plus in particular have been hugely abundant. We've seen press shots, we've seen live pictures and videos; hell, we've even seen leaked documents from other devices confirming some highly-anticipated features. Now, serial leaker @evleaks has spilled some more pictures of the S8 lineup, as well as some pricing details. Read More
