This could be the new cheaper Nest thermostat

One of the (many) obstacles to higher adoption of smart home technology is the expense. Back in March, Bloomberg reported that Nest was developing a sub-$200 smart thermostat. A recent tweet from Evan Blass, better known as @evleaks, may show the new device.

The first official render of the LG V30 has leaked, and it's a beauty

Ahead of its reveal on August 31st at IFA in Berlin, we've been able to build a pretty good idea of what to expect from LG's upcoming flagship, the V30. We know it'll have a 6.0" 1440p P-OLED display with a tall 18:9 ratio and curved edges (LG is calling it FullVision). We know it'll have a dual camera setup with a 16MP, f/1.6 aperture main snapper flanked by a 13MP wide angle lens. We know the secondary screen is being replaced by a floating action bar. We also had a pretty good idea of what it's going to look like, from CAD renders and leaked videos.

Sony Xperia XZ1 renders and photos leak, but since it looks like the XZ you can't tell

I still haven't wrapped my head around Sony's naming scheme, and already we have news on the next big phone from the manufacturer. A large number of renders and photographs of a dummy unit for the XZ1 leaked late yesterday. And, as the incremental name would suggest, the XZ1 looks almost identical to the XZ.

FCC filing for smaller Pixel 2 confirms HTC as manufacturer, Snapdragon 83x chipset, and "Active Edge" squeezable frame

One year ago today, the original Pixel and Pixel XL (which we then knew only as Nexus Marlin and Sailfish) passed through the FCC. Fast forward 365 days (really, it's been exactly a year) and the smaller Pixel 2 has just arrived at everyone's favorite commission. These documents confirm a number of rumors that we've previously reported on.

Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro leak points to offline Spotify support, a stronger clasp, and more

Samsung has stuck with wearables over the years, starting with its own Android-based Gear watches, then moving to Android Wear, then finally to a Tizen-based wearable platform. This has given Samsung the freedom to pursue a number of form factors like the "Fit" smart bands. The third iteration of Samsung's Fit device has been leaked, which is confusingly named "Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro." It packs improved water-resistance, offline Spotify, and a few other enhancements for athletic types.

If you use Google Calendar and have an eye for design you may have noticed that while the Android and iOS versions got material makeovers as early as 2014, the web interface has not been updated to match. A few months ago we got the fantastic news that many of us had long been waiting for. Thanks to a leaked roadmap for G Suite updates, we learned that a redesign for Calendar was penned for the fourth quarter of 2017. We've now been treated to screenshots of the new design in testing, and it doesn't look like it'll disappoint.

Creating an event in the new Google Calendar.

Fitbit's upcoming smartwatch leaks with ugly design and potentially improved fitness sensors

Fitbit took mercy on Pebble last year, acquiring parts of the company when it came crashing down last year. While Fitbit isn't building any more Pebbles, it is in the process of creating a new Fitbit smartwatch. A few images have leaked before, but the latest round of leaks show this watch off from every (ugly) angle.

Well, T-Mobile just spilled the beans by posting a support page for the LG GPad X2 8.0 Plus. Yes, that's really the name. It's a typical mid-range device, but it'll have an optional dock accessory.

LG V30 gets leaked with clean design and tiny bezels in HITRECORD video submissions

LG's produced some good-looking phones, such as the Nexus 5 and G3, but there haven't been any standouts in recent years. The G5 in particular was downright hideous, and the V20 and G6 are decidedly average. The V30, however, has a chance to change that. And thanks to some HITRECORD submissions, we can tell it looks pretty good.
