Posted in Droid-life's comments section earlier, this photo seems to depict a very large Motorola device next to an AT&T-branded LG G3. The G3 has a 5.5" display. This unknown Motorola hardware thus has a display substantially larger than 5.5", say somewhere in the 5.9" neighborhood maybe? So yes, this very well could be Shamu, the upcoming Nexus phone that we're pretty sure is going to be a thing in the near-ish future.

Last year Motorola announced the Droid phones alongside the Moto X, but this year the new Moto X is about to hit the shelves and there's still no official word on new Droid phones. However, a Google+ posting by HeloMotoHK claims to show the rumored Droid Turbo in all its glory. Yep, it still looks like a Droid.

The Galaxy A5 appears to be an awkward phone to get excited about. SamMobile has gotten its hands on exclusive photos of the device, the SM-A500, which should be the first in a new line of A-branded phones. What makes this particular handset interesting are its build materials. SamMobile's source says that Samsung has used a different material that isn't plastic or metal but still "feels cold in the hand."

To me, this sounds like Samsung has had so much success producing faux leather backs that it's ready to try its hand at fake other materials.

A couple of months ago, we shared an early look at an impending Play Store update that saw more "materialized" content listings, but the rest of the interface remained largely unchanged. The new, more image-focused interface made thoughtful use of increased white space and introduced some really fun tablet layouts for content listings from movies to books, music, and apps.

This time, we have an early look at the Play Store's upcoming 5.0 release.

There was an interesting little tidbit buried in the legal filings related to NVIDIA's patent suit against Qualcomm, which was just announced last week. The issue surrounds various GPU technologies that NVIDIA says Qualcomm is using without a license. More interesting than all that legal mumbo-jumbo is what NVIDIA had to say about an upcoming Tegra K1 device—the HTC Nexus 9. Yes, they actually said it.

One of the less dramatic software additions to the Moto X was the handy and unobtrusive camera launch gesture. While most phones have a quick-launch function for the camera on the lockscreen, the Moto X (and Verizon's me-too DROIDs from 2013) can quickly access the camera with two twists of the wrist, even when the phone's screen is off. According to a video spotted by A Tech Website (no, that's really the name) the upcoming Moto X+1, or possibly "the new Moto X," retains this function.

Motorola is still teasing us all with a few more hours of waiting before the X+1, Moto G, and everything else is official, but the phones have apparently broken cover on the website of German retailer Media Markt. The pages have a few images, but we've seen those leaked already. What's of primary interest here is the full spec list for both devices.

The page calls the new X simply "Moto X (2nd generation)," so perhaps the rumored name isn't accurate, or Media Markt is still using a place-holder.

Motorola is revealing its new line of products today, but only for press that are in Chicago for the private event. Everyone else gets to wait until 1AM central time for the embargo to drop. Well, a Brazilian retailer called Lojas Colombo may have jumped the gun a little by posting (and quickly pulling) a YouTube video showing off the new Moto G. Don't worry, there's a mirror below.

It's hard to believe something as wacky as Sony's QX series of add-on smartphone lenses could be considered "conventional." But compared to the QX1 leaked yesterday, which may allow any Sony E-series lens to mount onto a standard phone, the new QX30 is rather plain. Sony Alpha Rumors posted shots of the newest member of the QX family, which includes an impressive 30x optical zoom (4.3mm-129mm) in the same form factor.

It's been less than six months since Sony announced the top-of-the-line Xperia Z2 back at Mobile World Congress, but it looks like the company may be ready to release yet another iteration at IFA in Berlin. A Facebook fan page (reported by the reliable XperiaBlog) posted photos of what looks a lot like the next Xperia superphone, the Z3. A sticker on the device includes specifications, though there's no way to confirm them.
