[APK Teardown] Play Store 4.4 Suggests Google Is Getting Ready To Release Google Play Newsstand

Earlier this week, we posted the first look at the upcoming Android Play Store app v4.4. As it turns out, besides sporting a new look and a secret message to the teardown team, the updated Play Store is strongly hinting at another new arrival - one we've been waiting for since March. And now we have the updated name for it - Google Play Newsstand.

But first, allow me to refresh your memory.

This Is The Nexus 5, In Full-Size Official Press Photo Glory

Well, here it is, official and direct from Google's own image server (here's a link, though it may go down). Feast your eyes.

We found this minutes after a link to the Play Store listing for the Nexus 5 inadvertently appeared on a Play Store device splash. We see a new camera icon, a new phone icon (as suspected), and if you look closely, a new Gmail icon, too. Neat.

After many many leaks, we've got an official look at the Nexus 5 via the Play Store - the Nexus collection for the US is showing the icon for the Nexus 5 listing, along with the official description copy. Unfortunately though, the phone's actual listing is inaccessible.

So far we can tell that the device will start at $349 for the 16GB model specified in the listing's URL. This means the 32GB version we saw in the leaked manual will likely cost at or above $400.

[Exclusive] Next Android Play Store App 4.4 Will Switch To Slide-Out Navigation [Screenshots]

There have been a lot of unfounded rumors and speculation about KitKat and the Nexus 5 (and even the good old Nexus 4) floating around the web in the last few days, so why don't we take a break from those and switch things up for a change? Here is the work-in-progress UI from the next major update to the Play Store app for Android, version 4.4 (just to be clear: the Play Store's version is 4.4 - I'm not talking about Android 4.4).

Possible New Images Of KitKat Surface, Show The New Clock, About Easter Egg, And More

The KitKat leaks are in full force now and are starting to show up almost daily. Today's offering comes from ZDNet, where they've gotten hands on with some purported screenshots of Android 4.4 running on the 2013 Nexus 7 – most of which simply confirm things we've already seen. There are, however, a couple of new things present here, like the About Easter egg and a few shots that show off the updated clock app.

Breaking: Nexus 5 Prototype Bares All In Leaked Crystal Clear 7-Minute HD Video

A crystal clear 7-minute video of the Nexus 5 (I think we can accept that's going to be the name at this point) was just leaked on the web. It's an older build than the one leaked by TuttoAndroid yesterday, but look - it's the Nexus 5 hardware in the clearest shots we've seen yet! smartphones.sfr.fr appears all over it, so the full credit for this leak goes out to them.

[Rumor] Google's New Launcher In Android 4.4 Is Called 'Google Experience' - Here Are Some Things We Are Expecting To See In It

Several days ago, I started a series of rumor posts on my personal Google+ account discussing some Android rumors I felt were interesting enough to share, but didn't feel confident enough yet to do so here on the site. The posts were heavily prefixed with disclaimers that none of them may turn out to be true but that I had a certain level of confidence to talk about them in public unofficially.

Home Button Branding Isn't Dead Yet: Evleaks Reveals The Galaxy S4 Mini For Verizon

After dropping the Xperia Z1 for T-Mobile on us this morning, @evleaks has revealed another upcoming Android handset headed to a US carrier near you; namely, the Galaxy S4 Mini for Verizon.

Now, I'm not entirely sure we can be 100% positive this is for Verizon, but oh wait, the home button has a not at all conspicuous Verizon logo!

Leak: Evleaks Shows Off The Xperia Z1 For T-Mobile

Are you holding out for a stateside release of Sony's new flagship, the Xperia Z1? It appears hope may finally be on the horizon, at least if T-Mobile is an option for you. @evleaks just released a photo of what looks to be an Xperia Z1 headed to America's pinkest carrier, courtesy of a bit of T-Mobile branding along the bottom. Take a looksee.

We had some time with the Z1 back at IFA in September, but as seems to be the case with nearly every Sony phone lately, an American launch wasn't announced or even suggested at the time.
