I suppose now it's my turn - though, a disclaimer: I like to keep things very streamlined. The less clutter (physical and digital) I have, the better. While I may not have as much stuff as them, the things I <em>do</em> use, I use more.</p>
<h2>The Hardware</h2>
<h3>Desktop</h3>
<p>There's no denying that my desktop is dated, but it's capable enough for my needs. It's a self-built PC with an Intel Core i5 750 CPU overclocked to 3.4 GHz, 4GB of RAM, a 1TB HDD, Radeon HD 6850, Sound Blaster X-Fi, and <em>old</em> Creative 5.1 speakers, coupled to two 22" monitors.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/10/19/what-we-use-the-apps-tools-devices-and-other-stuff-aaron-cant-do-without/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>With another week comes another entry in our new "What We Use" series. This time it's my turn. I may not have an <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09/28/what-we-use-the-apps-tools-devices-and-other-stuff-eric-cant-do-without">eternal turtle</a> or a <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09/21/what-we-use-the-apps-tools-devices-and-other-stuff-cameron-cant-do-without/">crazy-sophisticated head razor</a>, but the fourth time's a charm, right? Here's a rundown of the hardware, software, and miscellaneous whatnots that help me do what I do.</p>
<h2>The Hardware</h2>
<h3>My Laptop</h3>
<p>Unlike my colleagues, I rely primarily on my laptop. Having found myself either in class or overseas during the past four years, re-upping my old desktop build was neither cost-effective nor practical, so I opted for a beefy laptop solution. Currently I'm running a Sony Vaio S with 8GB RAM, an Intel i5-2439M at 2.4GHz, and a 15.5" 1920x1080 screen.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/10/05/what-we-use-the-apps-tools-devices-and-other-stuff-liam-cant-do-without/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? A lot of stuff. That's what being a tech blogger is all about, right? Using technology to talk about technology. Well, <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09/14/what-david-runs-the-apps-tools-devices-and-other-stuff-i-cant-do-without/" target="_blank">David</a> and <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09/21/what-we-use-the-apps-tools-devices-and-other-stuff-cameron-cant-do-without/" target="_blank">Cameron</a> have already pulled back the curtain to show you how they make the magic happen. Now it's my turn! </p>
<h2>The Hardware</h2>
<h3>My Desktop</h3>
<p>There is no other way to describe my desktop than "my desktop." This is my workhorse and the centerpiece of my digital life. It's been steadily upgraded over the last 15 years and always by my own hand. I've never even owned a pre-built tower. It currently houses an i3 processor, 8GB of RAM and around 2.5TB of storage, between three hard drives.<div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09/28/what-we-use-the-apps-tools-devices-and-other-stuff-eric-cant-do-without/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post? <p>Last week, we gave you a glimpse into <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09/14/what-david-runs-the-apps-tools-devices-and-other-stuff-i-cant-do-without/" target="_blank">what David uses</a>: his favorite gadgets, accessories, apps, and all the other tech junk that he doesn't go a day without. Now it's my turn. With this series, you'll see how different each member of the AP team is when it comes to how we use our gear, which is one of the best things about Android: it's versatile.</p>
<p>Since David's already done the legwork of explaining what "What we use" is all about, I'm just going to jump right in.</p>
<h2 style="line-height: normal; widows: 2; text-transform: none; font-variant: normal; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0px; letter-spacing: normal; font-family: calibri; white-space: normal; orphans: 2; color: rgb(0,0,0); word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px">What am I carrying around?</h2>

<p>We've been ruminating on the idea of a series like this for a while at Android Police, and today, we're finally taking the plunge. Want to know the Android apps, tools, and hardware the editors of Android Police use day to day? Now you can! I mean, if you <em>want</em> to know. We won't be offended if you don't. Promise.</p>
<p>So, how's this going to work? We're going to start with hardware, then get into apps. From there, we'll talk about more hardware, in the form of the secondary accessories and other gizmos that we feel "complete" our Android lives. Yeah, this is kind of like TheVerge's "<a href="http://www.theverge.com/label/whats-in-your-bag" target="_blank">what's in your bag?</a><div class=clear></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09/14/what-david-runs-the-apps-tools-devices-and-other-stuff-i-cant-do-without/" class="read_more"><div class=excerpt-end><img src=http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/themes/ap1/images/read_on.png /></div></a></p><div style='clear: both'><b>Done With This Post?
