Google Keep 3.4.803 gets undo and redo controls [APK Download]

For the past year, every note I've had to make with my husband and every list we've had to write has been saved in Google Keep. The app is easy to use and powerful enough to take care of all of our organization needs, but the feature that we have missed in our daily use is an undo/redo functionality. It's a pretty basic one and the first time we looked for it and realized it wasn't there, we were quite dumbfounded. The convenience of not having to manually undo/redo something is very important, but it's even more crucial when you inadvertently delete something you shouldn't have.

Minecraft's next adventure arrives with Story Mode - Season Two

When Minecraft exploded on the scene I was one of the countless people who assumed it would just be a fad. We were all wrong, and the game has sold more copies than any other game except Tetris. It's so popular that Microsoft put up $2.5 billion to acquire the game's developer Mojang. Part of the game's strength has been catering to kids and adults alike, and it does that through several different games on various platforms. Minecraft: Story Mode arrived on Android a couple of years ago and has been immensely popular. Fans of that game will be thrilled to hear that the sequel has just been launched.

With nothing better to do, Hangouts v21 adds five new emoticon message shortcodes [APK Download]

Do you find yourself thinking Google Hangouts would be perfect if it only had a few more secret shortcodes to make emoticon art? No, I didn't think so. I guess that means today's update to Hangouts probably won't convince anybody that it has hit the pinnacle of excellence; but it will give us five more easter egg phrases, if that helps.

Play Games v5.2 adds several notification channels, adaptive icons, and support for app data backup [APK Download]

We don't hear too much about Play Games anymore, which may seem pretty obvious since the updates have been very slow lately and Google recently announced plans to shutter some of the features that weren't seeing much adoption. However, a new version began rolling out today, and it makes a surprisingly large jump straight from v3.9 to v5.2. Don't get too excited for big changes, though; this update appears to be focused on upkeep and incorporating some of the features added with Android Marshmallow and Nougat, not any major new additions.

Google Maps may be removing the category shortcuts from search, beautifies blue dot menu in latest update [APK Download]

Many people in the United States hit the road for their Independence Day celebrations, no doubt giving them more than a little time to re-familiarize themselves with Google Maps as they travel through unfamiliar territory. Now that most people have returned to their regular schedules, a couple of changes have been made to the interface, but one may not be entirely welcome. Oddly, it seems the Maps team just started rolling out tweaks to those red category search shortcuts that were pretty handy for finding nearby food, fuel, and other things. They've been completely removed from the regular search screen, and in Navigation mode, they've been pushed from the top to the very bottom.

Google News & Weather v3.3 comes with a major UI update, including bottom nav bar and cleaner drawer [APK Download]

If you're an avid user of the Google News & Weather app for Android, you may have felt a little sting when the Google News website got an interface overhaul last month. There's no need to feel left out, though, because a brand new update to the app brings the same visual treatments to smartphones. Most of the changes are essentially cosmetic, as everything that can be done in the new version was available somewhere in the previous update, but many things have been relocated and tuned to be a little nicer to access.

The BBC Taster VR app shows off new 360 degree content from the makers of Planet Earth II, and more

The BBC is pretty good when it comes to 360-degree content. The British media network even has a dedicated '360 Videos' YouTube playlist with a nice selection, ranging from tours of Italian cities to immersive wildlife experiences. It's now taking this to the logical next step, courtesy of its experimental BBC Taster studio, which has released a new VR app.

Telegram 4.1 increases the supergroup member limit, adds new admin tools and Android Pay support for bot payments [APK Download]

Telegram continues to be an awesome messaging platform. It's what I prefer to use to communicate, especially since the Android and desktop apps (even Linux) are spectacular. In a continuing roll of new features, Telegram 4.1 (or 1.1.9 on the desktop) is increasing the number of people allowed in a Supergroup, as well as adding new admin tools and Android Pay support for bot payments.

Google Play Store v8 brings in-line changelogs to the update screen [APK Download]

It would appear that there is an update rolling out for the Google Play Store, bringing things up to v8. We aren't sure about all the new features in this version yet, but there is at least one significant change. Now you can view changelogs for app updates directly from the update overview screen. So instead of having to go into each individual app to see what might be new, now it's just a single tap on an arrow to expand the item and read the details.

Hands-on with Library Sharing and Suggested Sharing on Google Photos 3.0 [APK Download]

Google announced yesterday that the promised Shared Library and Suggested Sharing features that were demoed last month at I/O are going live in Google Photos. When we covered the news, some of these were starting to show up on the web version of Photos then seeding began for a major update to version 3.0 of the Android app. Still, installing the new version didn't seem to enable any of the new features as they must have required a server-side switch as well.

I was on Google Photos 2.17 this morning and grabbed the 3.0 APK from APK Mirror since the Play Store hadn't made the update available for me yet.
