I know, it's I/O day and there are a lot more exciting things going on than OTA updates to Google Glass, but hey, the news is the news, right? The XE18.3 build should be rolling out to explorers now, and it adds a couple changes that make Glass a bit easier to use. First, pairing has been simplified with a walkthrough for the setup process. Second, Glass now has a user-accessible recovery mode.

Android 4.4.4 is a thing now, but Sprint Moto X users will have to make do with 4.4.3, which is heading out starting today (build KXA21.12-L1.22). This is one of those times you're going to have to wait your turn, as the OTA is going out in waves.

Nexus owners are about to get a surprise OTA update, but it's not Android 5.0 Lemon Drop Sunshine. It's another build of KitKat, specifically 4.4.4 with build number KTU84P (branch kitkat-mr2.1-release). Sprint has posted the Nexus 5 changelog on its community forums, and it's apparently a security fix.

T-Mobile announced a great many things yesterday, but not all of them were reason for customers everywhere to rejoice. No, some of the goods are reserved for a select segment of users. Starting today, the carrier is issuing an over-the-air update to the Galaxy S5 (G900TUVU1BNF6that enables support for voice over LTE connections. To coincide with the news, T-Mobile's VoLTE is now available in a total of fifteen markets.

A day after beginning its rollout of an over-the-air software update for the Galaxy S5 that brings Wi-Fi calling to the device, Sprint is pushing out updates to two other Galaxy devices. The S4 Mini and Mega are both due to receive Android 4.4.2 starting today. The Mini's version number is L520VPUBNE3, and the update comes on the same day as the Verizon variant's. Meanwhile, the Mega is getting treated to L600VPUANE4.

Update: KitKat is also rolling out to Canadian variants of the Galaxy S III running on Bell, Rogers, and TELUS. They are joined by the Galaxy Note II on all of the country's major carriers. The goods are going out over the air, but you can get them via Samsung Kies as well.

It doesn't matter how old a device gets, there's hardly ever a time when an update to a new version of Android is unwanted.

Sprint rolled out support for Wi-Fi calls to a couple of handsets this February, but all other devices that don't already have the feature require a dedicated software update. Fortunately for Galaxy S5 owners, the carrier has announced plans to bring support over to this flagship device. The S5 will be able to make calls and send text messages over registered Wi-Fi networks following an over-the-air update (version G900PVPU1ANE5) that's scheduled to start rolling out today.

Sure, Android Wear is just around the corner, but Qualcomm is still focusing on the Toq. An update to version 1.5.5_14602 is rolling out and it finally adds a feature that virtually every digital watch has had since the 80s. Yes, a stopwatch.

The stopwatch does all the usual stopwatch-y things like count upward, track lap times, and stop counting when you hit the stop button. Revolutionary. Also in this update is support for the next version of the Toq SDK – v1.5.

It seems like everyone is making smartphone screens more useful when they're off, and LG's attempt is called Knock Code. This feature lets you securely wake and unlock the device with a series of taps on the screen while the phone is asleep. No need to buy a new phone, though. Knock Code is rolling out the the AT&T LG G2 via an OTA update right now.

Samsung Galaxy Mega owners have probably felt a little bit ignored while they've watched one Samsung phone after another getting updates. After all, they only made it to Android 4.2.2 at the end of November, a month after KitKat was announced. They can finally say that they're running the latest version of Android (if we pretend that 4.4.3 didn't just come out). Starting today, an update to Android 4.4.2 will begin rolling out to the Galaxy Mega on AT&T.
