AT&T-Thumb
Last Updated: November 15th, 2014

Update: Let us not forget the Galaxy Tab S 8.4. AT&T has updated that device this week as well, bumping it up to KOT49H.T707AUCU1ANJ5 after a 32MB download. As for the changes, they're a yawn.

  • Carrier Billing enhancements
  • Updates to ATT Mail, Keeper, YPMobile

Those changes are largely the same as the Galaxy Tab S 10.5's OTA this week. This 58MB update left the device at build number KOT49H.T807AUCU1ANJ5.

It's the moment you've been waiting for. Google just announced the Nexus devices are getting OTA updates to 5.0, and now the full system images have been posted on the Google Developers site. With these files, you can flash your device back to stock even after you've done unspeakable things to it.

Can you feel it? It's in the air. Of course I'm referring to the impending arrival of Android 5.0 on Nexus devices. It's starting now with a full jump to Lollipop for devices that are currently on KitKat, and a small bug fix update for new devices like the Nexus 9.

We were all left wondering when the Google wouldn't commit to a firm date for the Lollipop rollout, but now the OTAs appear to be happening. Sprint has posted update notes for the Nexus 5 OTA, which lists today as the big day. This should apply to all Nexus 5s, not just those on Sprint.

T-Mobile has posted the changelog for an over-the-air update now rolling out to Xperia Z1s owners. The primary new feature is the inclusion of in-flight texting support. This way users can communicate with folks on the ground for free via Gogo thanks to a partnership T-Mobile debuted a couple months back.

This isn't all the OTA has to offer. The update will provide the Xperia Z1s with Wi-Fi calling enhancements, which are always a nice thing to see considering the carrier's reliance on Wi-Fi networks to complement its cellular network.

The Ouya has not taken the gaming world by storm as its supporters hoped, but it's still ticking along. In the latest update, users can look forward to more community content, deals on game bundles, and a few odds and ends for developers.

Software updates tend to take time, at least if you look at the historical average. A few OEMs have been pushing the envelope recently, though. For example, NVIDIA is saying that Android 5.0 will be on the Shield tablet this very month.

Sony is very serious about giving PlayStation 4 owners the ability to play their console without actually playing with their consoles, so the company is expanding its remote play functionality to more devices. The required app hit the Play Store just last week, but it only worked for the Z3 line of devices. Now that's gradually changing.

Following the latest over-the-air update, the Xperia Z2 and Z2 Tablet will be able to share in the experience.
