Samsung Announces That The AT&T Galaxy Note 8.0 Android 4.4.2 Update Is Finally Going Out To Devices

Jelly Bean seemed to stick around longer than other versions of Android. While most previous iterations were content to move along with each point release, Jelly Bean stuck around for 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3. It took quite a while for KitKat to arrive, and for some people, that wait has been longer than others.

If you purchased an AT&T Galaxy Note 8 back when it launched in 2013, you probably didn't think you would be stuck with Jelly Bean for this long.

It's been quite the wait for certain cellular Galaxy Tab 3 owners. The Wi-Fi version of the tablet came out in July of last year, and while KitKat eventually rolled out to several variants of the device, some owners have still been left waiting. Sprint brought Android 4.4.2 to customers back in June, but that did no good for users sitting around on AT&T. Fortunately for such folks, the company has finally decided to push this thing out.

Sprint Announces Samsung Galaxy Mega And HTC EVO 4G LTE OTA Software Updates

We often see carriers trickle out updates to one device on any given day, but today Sprint is pushing out a new firmware upgrade to two. These lucky handsets are the Samsung Galaxy Mega and the HTC EVO 4G LTE. Their change logs don't mirror each other, but one item is the same. It's not a particularly exciting one, but it's something.

The Galaxy Mega is one huge phone, and since it has already received KitKat, this update isn't huge enough to match.

Some Users Are Reporting Vastly Improved Battery Life On The Moto 360 After Last Week's Update

One of the issues with the Moto 360 has been the battery life, while I think it's always been good enough to get the job done, there was no denying that other Android Wear devices had it beaten. However, last week's OTA update might have done more than it let on. Some users are reporting as much as 50% more battery life on the 360 after that update.

Verizon Announces DROID DNA Software Update That 'Resolves' Device Root Vulnerability And Does Some Other Stuff

Verizon has announced an over-the-air software update for the DROID DNA that's going to make a few users upset. There's no reason to wonder if this latest firmware version will make it more difficult to achieve root access, for the carrier has put this little tidbit of information towards the top of the change log.
