Most other current generation Samsung devices needed some updates to be prepped for Samsung Pay and most carriers have issued them over the past day or so.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA Updates To Hit The Nexus 5 And 6 Starting October 5th, Says Telus

Instead of one new Nexus device, this year we're getting two: the Nexus 5x and the Nexus 6p. But as usual, what's perhaps more exciting than the release of a new Nexus device is the software that comes with it. When Google shows off the devices, which we expect to happen on September 29th, they will show off the final version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

AT&T Updates The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 To 5.1.1, Sprint's Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 Lags Behind With 5.0

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which carriers release updates for their Android updates first, and once you stray outside of the shallow waters of flagship smartphones, things start to get really inconsistent. For example, AT&T is updating its carrier-specific version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 to 5.1.1 today, at least according to this support page. But at the same time, Sprint's Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is only just now getting upgraded from Android 4.4 to 5.0. Huh.

AT&T's Tab 4 8.0 update includes changes to the Quick Settings menu, but not much else on top of the usual changes.

OxygenOS 2.1 Is Now Rolling Out To The OnePlus 2 With Manual Camera Mode, Customizable Color Balance, And More

The build of OxygenOS that shipped on the OnePlus 2 is good, but it's still very light on features compared to Cyanogen OS. The OTA update announced today should improve things a bit, though. There are some changes to the camera, display, and the usual smattering of bug fixes.

[Update: It's Official] The Original Moto X On Verizon Is Finally Getting Android 5.1 Via A Soak Test

While many of us have been living the Lollipop life and looking forward to Marshmallow, life hasn't been so grand for owners of the first generation Moto X on Verizon. They've been languishing on Android 4.4.4 all this time, but it looks like that's finally changing. A soak test for Android 5.1 is starting to roll out, and that could soon mean a general release of Lollipop for this once proud device.

[Update: Nexus Player, Project Fi And T-Mobile 6, And 7 LTE] Google Uploads LMY48M Bugfix Factory Images For The Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, And 10

Yesterday T-Mobile announced new over-the-air updates for the Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9. They contained security and bug-related fixes that, for the most part, aren't all that exciting. The patches amounted to under 20MB for all but the Nexus 6, which was under 30. But Google didn't promise us fun when it promised monthly Nexus updates.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition Phones Are Being Updated To Android 5.1 - Here's The OTA ZIP File

That took quite a while. According to a tip sent from an Android Police reader, that very small sliver of Galaxy S4 owners which opted for the Google Play Edition of the phone (running stock AOSP software) is now receiving the Android 5.1 update. That's the one that first started coming out way back in February, at least to Nexus devices. Yeah, the Google Play Edition program isn't looking quite so hot these days, more's the pity.
