Lets face it, some updates are more exciting than others. The OTA that Sprint is now rolling out to the Galaxy S4 is not one of them. That's not a bad thing per se, as a small update is better than no update - just don't expect much here. The list of enhancements for this one is just one line long. Software version MK2 "resolves sleep mode issues." That's it. If your phone wasn't sleeping well, it should rest more easily now.

So far NVIDIA has been making good on its promise of regular updates for its SHIELD portable gaming console, and this month is no different. Update 65 is rolling out now, and it brings a handful of new enhancements to some of SHIELD's flagship features, like Gamepad Mapper and Gamestream. Before we get into the details, here's a look at the full changelog:

GAMESTREAM improvements

If you're the owner of an unlocked US HTC One or HTC One Developer Edition, get ready for some KitKat: HTC's US Twitter account just let slip the news that an Android 4.4 OTA update is headed your way starting today.

While the rollout will probably be staggered in groups over the coming days, this is yet another incredibly quick OEM turnaround on Android 4.4.

The AT&T-branded Samsung Galaxy S4 is once again getting its Android 4.3 update as an OTA. After an unexplained issue with the last Android 4.3 push, everything looks to be getting back underway according to Samsung's site and early reports on XDA. This is a big update for the GS4, but AT&T is probably going to take it slowly this time.

The Kyocera Hydro Elite may not be a top-of-the-line device, but it comes with something most phones don't - water resistance. It also packs 4.3-inch display and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, making it an admirable midrange handset. Now Verizon is distributing the first OTA for the phone, and while the Android version number remains the same, this update impacts many areas of the device.

The touch screen's sensitivity has been adjusted, including the virtual keyboard, and the call screen now stays lit for over 15 seconds when active.

Earlier today we shared the kernel source and framework files for the Google Play edition HTC One that have been posted on HTCdev, a sign that an OTA possibly wouldn't be far off. As it turns out, it wasn't. An update is now rolling out to device owners. Here's the proof, courtesy of a user on XDA Developers.

We just saw HTC post its KitKat open source files for the Google Play Edition One, and now here's Samsung doing the same thing for the GPe Galaxy S4. Although, its open source website is a lot less attractive. What's with that, Samsung? At any rate, you can grab the kernel source right now at the link below.

We already know that HTC has delivered the KitKat ROM for its Google Play edition HTC One, and now the kernel source and framework files from that release have been posted on HTCdev. If you blink, you might miss the beginning of the OTA.

Following close behind the arrival of KitKat for the Moto X on both Verizon and T-Mobile, AT&T has now announced that it, too, is pushing out an OTA. Between Verizon's version of the handset getting the update before anyone else and the Moto X getting Android 4.4 pushed out before the Nexus 4 and both Google Play Edition devices, there is a lot to be surprised about here. Surprised, and impressed.

Not to be left behind by the larger carriers, US Cellular is also distributing the Android 4.3 update to the Galaxy S IIIs running on its network. In addition to the goodies that come with the latest version of Jelly Bean, this release gives Samsung's 2012 flagship the ability to pair with Galaxy Gear smartwatches, a privilege that until recently was exclusively provided to the Galaxy Note 3.

Galaxy S III users who do not own a Galaxy Gear may be more interested in the new Samsung KNOX compatibility or the improved pre-installed apps.
