Samsung has been rolling out Galaxy Gear support to additional devices since the end of October, lumping the functionality in with updates to Android 4.3. A leaked schedule provided a timeline of when to expect various Galaxy handsets across the big four American carriers to get updated, and many OTAs started rolling out right on schedule. Others have not. The AT&T Galaxy Note II's update has been somewhat of a tortoise, but it may soon cross the finish line, as the long-awaited OTA is finally inbound.

The list of devices that offer support for Samsung's first smartwatch is constantly growing, and today Verizon's Galaxy S 4 Mini gets to join that elite crew. The support docs just updated with details of the OTA, which highlights the Gear's potential usefulness.

Gear support isn't all you'll find in this update, either. It also brings about some new bloatware (imagine that), like Verizon's MyInfoZone Widget, VMware, and Verizon Cloud. Exciting stuff.

Verizon shocked many of us by being the first carrier to update the Moto X to Android 4.4. This update came less than a month after KitKat made its first public appearance, and it was followed by OTAs from T-Mobile and AT&T mere days later. Then came US Cellular's turn in early December. Today, Sprint finally rises to the occasion and has started to push out Android 4.4 to its version of the Moto X, making it the last of the large national carriers to do so.

Galaxy S4s running on the C Spire Wireless network started receiving OTA updates to Android 4.3 a week ago, bringing the devices up to the latest version of Jelly Bean. Now Samsung's older flagship is having its day in the sun. C Spire customers with Galaxy S IIIs are now getting the Galaxy Gear compatibility that has been rolling out to Samsung's high-end devices since the launch of the Galaxy Note 3.

A month after bumping the Galaxy S4 up to Android 4.3, Verizon is rolling out a minor OTA for the flagship that addresses a few rough spots around the edges. Following the update, owners should experience better data roaming in Canada and Mexico along with a better connection when using enterprise proxy servers.

Verizon recently uploaded a new support document for the Galaxy Note 3 to its support site detailing a new OTA update. While there's nothing major about this one, it does fix quite a few bugs. That's not all that's under the hood, however – it also brings four new pieces of bloatware along for the ride: MyInfoZone Widget, VMware, Verizon Support & Protection v2, and Verizon Cloud. Useful, eh? I didn't think so.

Sprint has just posted on its support forums and update page that Nexus 5 users can expect an update on their devices today with build number KOT49H – that's slightly newer than the build we got last week.

Verizon posted details surround an incoming update for the DROID DNA several months ago that would bring the device up to Android 4.2.2 and dress it up with Sense 5, but an OTA never came. Now that's changing, as Verizon has officially announced it and provided a detailed overview of changes owners can expect. The update will provide an experience similar to that on the HTC One, with features such as BlinkFeed, quick settings, and improved Sense apps making their way over to what was 2012's best DROID.
