OnePlus 2 OxygenOS Update With Android Marshmallow Is Currently Undergoing Soak Testing

OnePlus doesn't ship its phones with plain vanilla Android. They run OxygenOS. No matter. It's Android, and what people want from the over-the-air updates remain the latest version. Right now that's Marshmallow.

Apparently OnePlus is soak testing its Android 6.0 update, which is going out as part of OxygenOS 3.0.

OTAs From The Android N Beta Program Are Soft Bricking Some Devices, But Google Has A Fix

Google's approach to releasing preview firmware for upcoming versions of Android is evolving into a pretty cool system that allows developers to simply sign up a device and wait for the OTAs to come rolling in. However, no product launch is perfect, and this one is causing some real problems for some users. Complaints started rolling into the Nexus Help Form and AOSP Issue Tracker about devices that were left unable to boot after attempting to install the OTA. This problem is greatly compounded by the fact that many users are not able to unlock their bootloaders, which means they can't fix the issue with a factory image.

Sprint's Galaxy S6 And S6 Edge Get Their Android Marshmallow Over-The-Air Updates

Sprint customers have a lot to deal with, starting with the fact that they're paying for Sprint service. (I kid, I kid.) But those of them who use a Galaxy S6 or the curvier Galaxy S6 Edge have reason to celebrate, as both phones are being upgraded to Android 6.0 starting today. We have confirmation from multiple users that the OTA files are going out, and Sprint's support pages for both phones say the same thing.

Nexus Factory Images For March Security Updates Are Now Available

As is the (new-ish) tradition, Google rolls out security updates on the first Monday of each month. The factory images for March's updates are right on schedule with all of the recent fixes to shore up potential vulnerabilities in the operating system. LMY49H is the build number for the Nexus 10 update, which will remain cut off at Lollipop. Most of the other devices on the list are moving up to MMB29V, though a few other build numbers are available for special variants. It looks like there may still be a couple of missing images, like the Nexus 6P. Just keep checking back and they'll probably turn up shortly.

Sony Now Rolling Out Android 6.0 To Xperia Z5 Series, Z4 Tablet, And Z3+

Sony is sometimes a little slow to release new devices everywhere, but at least its Android update schedule is on par with other OEMs. That is to say, it's annoyingly slow, but not unusually so. The Z5, Z4 Tablet, and Z3+ are all getting Android 6.0 right now, but as usual, it's a staged rollout that will vary by country.

OnePlus 2 Gets Updated To OxygenOS 2.2.1, And No, It's Not Marshmallow

OnePlus has been hounded pretty regularly in recent months by anxious OP2 owners wondering when Marshmallow is coming. Well, there's an OTA starting to roll out today and... it's not Marshmallow. Still Android 5.1, sorry. It does, however, bring RAW support to the camera, new security patches, and other little fixes.
