Signing a contractual agreement to stick with a carrier for two years so you can get a decent phone without breaking the bank is a downright sham. Thus, many users are bypassing that system altogether by choosing carrier-unlocked phones like the Nexus 4. Of course, the N4 is on hiatus at the moment, so that's kind of out of the question. Don't fret, though – your dreams of a contract-free life aren't lost.
Dang it, I've already used up all my "G" adjectives for the day. The internet is not gonna leave me be, though, as the LG Optimus G 4G gets a good ol' grice grop to $49 on Gamazon Gireless. Gee, what a deal. The previous best offer we'd seen for this beast of a phone was $99, also via Amazon. $49 is a downright bargain for this flagship handset.
Both new and upgrading AT&T customers are eligible for the lower price point, as long as they're signing up for a new 2-year contract.
There might be more appealing national networks to run your phone through, but Sprint is hoping to lure in more customers with some free money. A leaked internal Sprint doc indicates that a previously popular promotion is coming roaring back on January 18th. If you meet the qualifications to take advantage of this deal, it can mean big savings on a couple new smartphones.
Before you get too excited, you have to be opening a new account with Sprint, along with the following eligibility requirements:
- IL [Independently Liable] customers activating 3-5 new handsets [read: phones only] on new lines of service
- At least one line must be a port-in from another carrier
- Customers must activate all phones on an Everything Share or Simply Everything Share plan
The independently liable stipulation is just referring to a line that you own, not one handled through an employer.
The DROID DNA is a phone I have little trouble recommending to most people, even if I can't say it's my very favorite piece of hardware out there. A 5" 1080p display, quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, great build quality, Verizon's near-ubiquitous LTE coverage - there's a lot to like about this phone. At $200 on contract, I might even say it's kind of a good deal already. But that wasn't low enough for Amazon.
Are you just getting home from work and looking to unwind with some tunes? Maybe you want to rock out to the music on your phone – oh, but that crappy little speaker just won't cut it. The Monster ClarityHD, however, can pump out much more sound, and it's on sale from Best Buy. Yes, you might actually have a reason to buy something from Best Buy.
The Monster ClarityHD connects wirelessly to most Bluetooth 2.0 compatible devices.
If you're in the market for a portable speaker, it's hard to beat the Braven 625S. Its dual 3W drivers can put out some sound, while the 1700mAh battery doubles as a portable charger to power your devices in a pinch. And for today only, you can score one of these bad boys for $99 from Best Buy. It goes for around $180 on Amazon on any other day, so grabbing one today will save you a cool eighty dollar bill.
The folks at eBay must love the Nexus 7 as much as we do, because it's been on their Daily Deals page several times now. Today you get another chance to pick up the larger 32GB model of everyone's favorite 7-inch tablet: the Daily Deal is selling it for $228, with free shipping. That's $22 off the retail price, and considerably more if you live in a US state where eBay doesn't have to charge taxes.
When it comes to the Note 10.1, there's a slip in the crowd: you either love it or hate it. Those who do love it, though, really love it – if you'd like to join those ranks but just can't justify dropping five hundred dollars on a tablet, 1 Sale a Day may have your ticket. For today only, you can get a refurbished Galaxy Note 10.1 16GB for $380. That's a solid $120 off the retail price, which makes for some pretty nice savings.
