summer sale
Last Updated: August 11th, 2012

It's a good time to be an Android gamer - three respectable game developers have just slashed the prices of their games to less than $1 (up to 85% off) in a wild summer sale.

First up, Gameloft's 3D MMORPG Order & Chaos has seen its price reduced to $0.99. This is a pretty significant sale considering it usually costs $6.99, and it seems like a viable option for MMORPG fans, as evidenced by its current 4.25-star rating on the Play Store.

Yesterday, we featured a great deal on a stationary Bluetooth dock. Say you need something a bit more portable, though. What should you buy then? Heavens, can anyone save you from this crisis of audio need?! Well, yeah. And calm down. Here's a portable Bluetooth speaker from Best Buy. Today only, this Rocketfish SPX15 is available for $40, which is $60 off its normal MSRP and about $30 off its already-lower price on Amazon.

Android docks are thin on the ground, mostly because there's just too many phones and tablets for accessory makers to invest in developing them. Philips is the exception, and while their range of Fidelio docks have been well-received, they're also pretty expensive. On that note, you can pick up the Fidelio AS140/37, their mid-range Android speaker dock, for just $49.99 in Target stores. That's $60 off the suggested retail price, and more than $30 off of Amazon's price.

There's no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S III is the best phone on all four major carriers right now. If you're considering picking one up on Big Red (despite its locked bootloader), you can now score the 32GB version in white or blue from either Amazon Wireless or Wirefly. Yeah, we know: it's a tough choice. First you have to decide which color to buy, then which vendor to buy it from.

If there were ever a time in your life when the thought "you know, I should switch to Sprint and get the EVO LTE" crossed your mind, now may be the best time act on it: it just dropped to a penny on Amazon Wireless. A freakin' penny.

Amazon Wireless wants to you have this phone so badly, they're willing to hand it right over - so long as you don't have a problem with committing to The Now Network for the next couple years.

Google Music has become quite the app over Android's lifecycle, and there are plenty of very solid alternatives out there. But the vast majority of them offer a rather tired way of accessing your local music collection, splitting them into the same artist, album, genre and playlist sections we've been using for decades. n7player Music Player (yes, it's repetitive) has a uniquely visual way of displaying your tunes, worth checking out for any music lover who wants to shake things up.

EA's Real Racing 2, a game that we covered at launch back in December, is the self-proclaimed "most hotly anticipated racing game ever made for Android." It is also on sale (for a limited time) for just $0.99, 80% off its normal $4.99 price tag. The sale comes in celebration of the announcement of Real Racing 3, the next entry in EA's extremely well-crafted racing series.

The game, for those who aren't familiar, brings intense racing action to your Android device with over 40 miles of track in 15 different, equally immersive locations.

Last month, both Amazon Wireless and Wirefly offered a promotion for a $40 credit with the purchase of a new 4G LTE phone on Verizon Wireless. Now, Amazon Wireless is offering a similar deal for anyone who purchases a phone on Verizon and activates a new Share Everything plan.

Basically, if you purchase select Verizon phones from Amazon Wireless between now and August 2nd, you'll get a $40 credit on your bill (which may "take up to three bill cycles to process").
