The Play Store sale we spotted kicking off in Australia earlier today has started hitting the US this evening, marking the 1-year anniversary of the Play Store. The deals so far are mostly songs and various in-app purchase / offer discounts, but the splash page for the promotion indicates there will be even more deals as the week goes on.

Here are the deals so far.

Yeah, it isn't our favorite Play Store promo, either - a lot of these are rehashes, and some of them barely qualify as 'deals' (who can't find the pilot episode of Breaking Bad for free?).

Update: The sale is now live in the US (link).

It's been [almost] a year since Google rebranded the Android Market as the Google Play Store, and to celebrate, the big G is planning on kicking off a bunch of content sales all over the world. And in some parts of the world, where today is tomorrow (eg, March 6th), the sale has already begun. Our Australian readers will be happy to know that the Play Store's big 1-year bash is well on its way - various movies, books, apps, and games are all on sale at low, low prices.

Everyone's favorite way to get a pile of indie games at a good price has returned - Humble Bundle with Android #5 is a go. You can support developers, charity, and the Humble organization with your purchase, in the amount and proportion of your choosing.

Four games are included no matter how much you give - three of them brand-spanking-new to Android. Dynamite Jack, Solar 2, and NightSky HD are all making their Android debuts with this Humble Bundle, and the retina-searing Beat Hazard Ultra is also included.

In honor of its first full year distributing games on the Play Store, Square Enix has placed its most recent Final Fantasy release - Final Fantasy Dimensions - on sale for just $9.99, a savings of $10.

With an average rating of 4.4 stars and nearly 800 reviews, Dimensions is easily among Square Enix's best-reviewed titles on Android. Whether you're a Final Fantasy nut, or just love RPGs crafted in the old 2D style, this sale is definitely worth taking advantage of.

The Galaxy Note 10.1, old as it may be, is still the de facto standard if you're looking for an Android tablet with a built-in stylus and at least some custom software to support it. Now, it's cheaper than ever to get your hands on it with Woot offering the 32GB model with a bonus leather pouch for $409. The slate has also received some updates in some regions since it first came out, so there's never been a better time to give it a second look.

Do you feel drained of energy after a long trip? Imagine how your devices feel. Woot might be able to help out with their pain and suffering. Today only, Wooters can get the Powerbag Instant Messenger and Powerbag Sling for just $39.99 each. We may be knee-deep in MWC coverage right now, but if you just can't stop thinking about how much you want a Galaxy Note 10.1, eBay's got a deal for you. For $380 with free shipping (taxes only applicable in NJ – sorry guys!), you can score Sammy's stylus-packing ten-incher, brand new in the box – meaning this one's not a refurb.

The Note 10.1 packs all sorts of nice tweaks on the software side that makes Android better on the whole, like multi-window, as well as numerous added functions thanks to the S-Pen.

I know, I know. Getting locked into a two-year contract for a Nexus 4 is something that not everyone wants to do, and I don't blame them. But, for those who don't mind two years on T-Mobile, you can get a free Nexus 4 if you order it before Sunday, February 24th. That's a pretty solid deal, because this is one of the best Android phones money can buy. But if you get it for free, money isn't buying it.

OK, Sony may have missed the mark on pricing when it first announced the Xperia Tablet S. At $400 for the 16GB version, it priced the device way out of the market, especially when the Nexus 10 is brought into consideration. Sure, the prices may be the same, but not only does the N10 pack a much higher resolution display, but it also has all the benefits of being a Nexus.

Want An HTC One VX for V-Day, for practically nothing? Then head to AT&T's website or Amazon, depending upon which color you prefer. Both have the device on sale for $.01 with a new or extended contract, but AT&T has the red version, while Amazon has the white. The regular subsidized price from both retailers for the phone is $49.99. I'd go with the white ( it looks a little more snazzy) but there's no accounting for taste.
