The HTC Rhyme, a stylish phone geared toward HTC's female demographic, has only been on the market for a short time, but it's already getting some pretty hot discounts thanks to Amazon Wireless.

Amazon Wireless is offering the HTC Rhyme for a paltry $79.99 on a new two-year activation, or $99.99 for those opting to upgrade from their current device.

[Update: Pricing Error] 16GB HTC Flyer On Sale For Just $100 At Best Buy Stores (Where Available)

Update: Turns out this was just a pricing error, and Best Buy is not honoring the price. Sorry for the false alarm, everyone!

Just a few days ago, Best Buy dropped the price of the HTC Flyer to just $300, and today they've dropped it further to $100. At that price, it certainly seems like a fire sale (similar to the HP TouchPad), but at this point it's unclear what's prompting the uber-low price.

As a quick reminder, the Flyer has a 7" screen, single-core 1.5GHz CPU, front and rear cameras, an SD card slot, and 16GB of on-board storage. At the moment it merely runs Gingerbread, but HTC has long promised an update to Honeycomb (and/or hopefully Ice Cream Sandwich) sometime soon.

Update: $100 off ($99.99) at AT&T using this deal, though for me, taxes are still $46.75

If you're the type of person who likes Madden, yet somehow managed to not purchase it four weeks into the season, I've got good news! From October 1st-3rd, Verizon customers can download Madden NFL 12 for the low, low price of "free." How you download it is a little bizarre, so listen up: You call -- that's right, call -- **MADDEN. That's "[Star] [Star] 623336", and somehow that will start the download. The instructions aren't very specific. Whoever wrote the press release decided obvious football puns were more important than clarity. The press release mentions something about "VCast Apps," so don't be surprised if you are asked to download yet another app store.

Best Buy Dropping Price Of Flyer To $300, Second Time HTC Has Made Sense

The HTC Flyer was the Taiwanese handset company's first foray into the tablet game - a 7" device with a 1.5GHz single-core processor, two cameras, an SD card slot, and 16GB of storage (digital stylus not included). At $500, it was pretty obviously overpriced. But for 300 bucks, the this tablet is at least nearing what we'd call the competitive range.

The Flyer runs Gingerbread, though a Honeycomb update is in the pipes, and its bootloader presents no obstacles to the flashing of custom ROMs. Having used the Flyer myself, I can say it's a decently quick device and is very solid feeling, and quite svelte in terms of dimensions.

Looking to get a full-color eReader on the cheap? Or perhaps a CyanogenMod conversion candidate? DailySteals is offering up refurbished B&N NOOK Color tablets for just $150, shipping included (next best price we've found is $190 shipped for a refurb).

That's quite a steal for a 7" IPS display, complete with the NOOK's signature carabineer hook thing. The NOOK Color has been renowned for its hackability, particularly because you can get it to run CyanogenMod 7 pretty easily. And once you do that, you have a full-featured Android (albeit Gingerbread) tablet with Market access and a thriving developer community. For $150, we're going to go ahead and say this is one of the better deals you'll ever see on an Android tab.

If you head over to woot.com this morning, you'll find refurbished Motorola XOOM 32GB Wi-Fi tablets are being tossed off for a mere $355 shipped - that's $50 less than the best deal we've seen previously for a non-refurb, but honestly, you probably won't even notice they aren't new.

That's quite a bit of tablet storage for a pretty reasonable price, so we're inclined to say this deal is indeed a good one. Head on over to woot! to pick one (or 4) up.

Let's not beat around the bush here: the DROID X2 is hardly the star of Motorola and Verizon's DROID production, what with its PenTile display and CDMA-only radio. Amazon has reduced the price of the Motorola DROID BIONC for new Verizon subscribers to just $150 - and you'll get a free $50 Amazon Gift Card to boot, which would probably wisely be spent on a spare battery and charger.

Verizon's first dual-core phone to feature LTE and a qHD display (with somewhat yucky PenTile subpixel rendering), the BIONIC is definitely Verizon's current powerhouse handset.
