Free stuff is good, and if you're an Android developer looking to get into the Intel dev scene, then there's a free book on Amazon that should be just what you need. It's called "Android Application Development for the Intel Platform" (man I really love catchy book titles), and it's normally $40. The paperback version is still going for $35, but if you can handle reading on your device, the Kindle Edition costs approximately zero monies right now.

To tell the truth, the first round of Android Wear devices aren't all that expensive if you think of them as luxury watches. But if you think of them as notification-based accessories for your $500 smartphone, yeah, they're pretty pricey. Big box retailer Best Buy is here to alleviate some of that sticker shock with a sale on the LG G Watch. You can pick up the black or white/gold version for $179.99 right now, $50 off the retail price.

If you've got a spare buck sitting around, now might be the time to blow it on a game. Disney's Castle of Illusion usually costs $9.99, but it's currently on sale for just $0.99, which is a full 90% off. Note, this deal isn't valid in all regions, but this game has proven pretty popular even at full price.

Update: The price has now also dropped to $0.99 on the Amazon Appstore. Go spend some coins, people.

If you need a great phone and aren't interested in a contract, but you're willing to compromise on what's technically the cutting edge, you're in a good position to save a bit of money. For example, take this perfectly good 32GB HTC One M7 (that's the one before the one they're selling now). If you're OK with a refurbished phone, you can pick up a white or black one from eBay for $249.99, well below the retail price.

The better part of a year has passed since the launch of the Nexus 5, but deals are popping up on eBay as regularly as ever. This time we're looking at the 32GB option available in black or white for $379. That may sound only marginally cheaper than the $399 the phone goes for in the Play Store, but when you factor in the free shipping and the lack of sales tax everywhere except in New York, you are looking at saving at least $50.

The Play Store has a ton of apps and games, often at very reasonable prices. Still, we live in a world where apps are priced very low, sometimes to the point that people scoff at paying even $0.99 for something. Developers can't just give it away, but they can occasionally drop the price to entice those of you on the fence. So stop with the indecisiveness, and buy some stuff that's on sale.

The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is one of the best tablets available on the market right now. Samsung has released no shortage of slates, but this remains situated among the top of the line. That's why the 10-inch tablet usually still goes for half a grand. Yet if you're interested, here's the scoop. Amazon currently has the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 discounted by $50. Now there are some caveats. We're talking about the 16GB version, and the lower price only applies to the white option.

We love us some cheap external storage here at Android Police, and today Amazon subsidiary Woot has a great deal on a jumbo-sized MicroSD card. The site is offering a 64GB SanDisk Ultra MicroSDXC card, refurbished, for $24.99. That's less than half the retail price of the new card, and a solid 35% off of Amazon's price. This is an ongoing Woot sale, so it won't disappear after today - the price is good until September 1st, or until stock runs out.

Man, eBay just loves those Nexus deals. The latest is for a new 16GB Nexus 5, not refurbished or restocked, for $324.99 ($25 off the Play Store price). With the free shipping available from this seller and no sales tax charged for buyers outside the state of New Jersey, it's approximately $80 cheaper, plus or minus a few dollars depending on location. Note that this is the standard D820 model. If you haven't picked up a Nexus 5 yet, this is the best price we've seen in a while.
