If you head over to Amazon's Facebook page right now and press "Like," you'll find the first product in Amazon's ongoing A-Z Sweepstakes, a Motorola XOOM, is up for grabs. Eight of them - to be precise. All you have to do is give Amazon your name, email address, and phone number to enter. This is a US residents-only contest, though (unlike our super-awesome Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi Giveaway.)
We all love good deals. Amazon loves Android. When you put these two things together, what do you get? A good deal involving Android from Amazon, of course! For this week only, if you buy a new Verizon Android device from Amazon, then you will get a $25 credit for use in the Amazon Appstore. It doesn't matter which device - it could be the Thunderbolt, Droid X, or even the XOOM.
There doesn't appear to be any other stipulations involved - as long as it's a VZW Android device, then you're good to go. So, if you've been considering picking up a new phone or tablet, you should probably go for it now so you can score some free apps in the process.
Remember the T-Mobile G2x that came out just two days ago? Well, it looks like the folks over at CellHub are offering an unbelievable deal on this brand new Tegra2 powered device: with a new two-year agreement, you can score this beauty for just $50.
If you have never heard of CellHub, don't stress, because we hadn't either. We decided to do some digging and, come to find out, these guys are most definitely legit, rocking an almost 5-star score on ResellerRatings.
Update: Up to $100 now. Congratulations to those who snagged a $50 G2x. Even at $100, this is still a great deal.
The LG G2x, the first dual-core Android phone on T-Mobile, is officially available at all retail channels starting today, April 20th. While you can go pick it up at T-Mobile for $199.99 after an instant discount and a mail-in rebate (plus a nice kickback to Uncle Sam), you could instead head over to Amazon, where the G2x page just went live, ready to be delivered to your abode via free 2-day shipping.
The pricing works out to be a cool $149.99 for new family accounts and both individual and family upgrades. Strangely, the price doesn't hold up for new individual accounts, rising back up to $199.99.
For those who have been paying attention, it's pretty clear that the mobile space is exploding, thanks largely to the rapid adoption of Android, iPhone, and, to a lesser extent, Windows Phone 7 devices. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that Best Buy is planning to expand their stand-alone Best Buy Mobile brand by 600-800 locations over the next five years.
Best Buy's been a fairly major player in the Android space, often offering phones at a steeper discount than the carriers in order to attract new customers. That strategy seems to be working, so keep an eye out for a Best Buy Mobile springing up in a mall near you.
Some of you may remember that daily deal site Woot marked the Viewsonic gTablet down to just $280 (twice). Amazon (Woot's parent company) has decided they'd like to do the same, so for the third time in just a few weeks, you can score the dual-core, Tegra2-rockin' tablet for only $280. Although it's sold through Amazon, the order is fulfilled by Woot.
Need a refresher on the specs? No worries, I can totally play it lazy and copy-paste what we've said before:
2 of T-Mobile's most exciting devices that are arriving this month, the dual-core LG G2x and the Samsung Sidekick 4G, have just gone live on Wirefly's pre-order site. Wirefly, one of the largest online mobile retailers, is sweetening the deal on the G2x by $50 compared to MSRP and on the Sidekick 4G (pick black or pink) by $20.
Both devices come with free activation for the pre-order period and, of course, ship for free as well. Mark April 20th in your calendar if you make an order, as that's the date both of these bad boys are set to ship on.
There's no doubt that the HTC Thunderbolt is a hot commodity if you're on Verizon Wireless, and if you've been considering picking up this blazing fast 4G LTE device, now might be the best time hop on it. Wirefly is offering up a special deal on the TBolt if you use coupon code THUNDER0418 at checkout, which gives you $50 off (bringing the total down to $150), free shipping, and a month of free mobile hotspot (expires on May 15th).
I'm sure that most of you are very familiar with the Thunderbolt and how awesome it is, but just in case, here are the specs:
- 1GHz Snapdragon processor
- 768MB RAM
- 8GB Storage
- 4.3 Inch screen
- 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera
- 4G LTE
If you plan on taking advantage of this deal, you better move quick because it ends on Monday, April 18th.
If you have been lusting over the Motorola Atrix 4G but waiting for the perfect deal to come along, wait no more. Throughout the weekend, you can grab this super-hot dual-core device for only $50 with a new two year agreement on AT&T from Amazon Wireless. Unfortunately, this deal doesn't apply to upgrades on existing plans, so those of you that are already with AT&T will be stuck paying $99, which is still quite a good deal for a phone this beastly.
Just in case you have forgotten how awesome this phone is, here is a quick look at the specs:
- 1GHz Tegra 2 dual-core processor
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB built-in storage
- 4-inch LCD
- 5MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera
- Android 2.2 with Motoblur
If you really want to go for the gold, you can also get $100 off of the Webtop accessory via a promotional code that will be sent your way after you purchase the ATRIX.
