You just experienced a weekend of epic deals, and it's not even close to over yet. There are still all kinds of holiday app sales going on, and then it'll be on to the New Years sales, then the Presidents' Day sales, then the Valentine's Day sales, and so on in that fashion until all the apps are sold.
Update: Despite allegedly increasing the number of devices available through the promo, all the spots are already gone. It took under 10 minutes. There are going to be a lot of unhappy folks out there, but there's another slot open next Monday.
Original post: Things didn't go super-well for Motorola on Cyber Monday – it turns out people really like getting $150 off a full-price phone and pretty much crushed Motorola's website on Monday.
It seems like everyone is throwing free cloud storage at you to push phones, including Amazon. The retailer is offering 50GB of Amazon Cloud Drive space for one year if you buy select carrier-branded phones. In this case "select" seems to mean a whole bunch of phones – over 100 by the looks of it.
All you have to do is pick up a phone included in the promotion, which Amazon has helpfully created a special portal for.
Many useful products have gone on sale this past weekend, including tablets, phones, chargers, batteries, earbuds, speakers, and more or less anything you could possibly want to pair with a mobile handset. But we've had enough of useful - now it's time for cool.
Brookstone's Rover 2.0 wireless spy tank is now available for $50 off. You can get it from Amazon for just $99.99.
Update: Amazon's price has changed to match Brookstone's.
With all the deals flying around lately, we know many of you have recently wrapped your fingers around a brand spanking new phone or tablet. Now comes the time to fill it with content. Just because the device likely came with Play Books pre-installed, that doesn't mean it's your only option for skimming through books. Amazon's massive collection of ebooks are only a click away, and now the company has announced its second annual 12 Days of Deals promotion.
Update: Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside posted an apology for the Cyber Monday failures on the Motorola company blog. The company is also extending extra savings on accessories for the affected days. Here's a snippet:
If you're in the market for some stylish new accessories, Tylt has a Cyber Monday deal for you. The company is offering a whopping 50% off everything it sells, including the VU wireless charger. However, there have been some issues with stability as the site gets hammered today, so you can also submit your email to be issued a 50% off voucher for use in the future.
Tylt has a healthy assortment of cables, external batteries, cases, and other stuff.
It's Cyber Monday, and Newegg is known for selling nice tech, so let's cut to the chase here. The site has a sale going on, and while the vast majority of it has nothing to do with Android, a few niceties have managed to slip through. For starters, we have the LG G Pad 8.3, which is currently on sale for $279.99, and if you apply the coupon code CYBERMND16, that price will go down an additional $30.
The new Nexus 7 is a fancy device, but it's still a little more expensive than some folks are comfortable with. The 2012 Nexus 7 is still floating around, and Newegg has a cache of them for sale on eBay. Just $114.99 and this slab of refurbished Android is headed your way this holiday season.
The 2012 N7 is still a respectable device, especially after recent updates. It benefits from the TRIM support in Android 4.3 and better memory management in 4.4.
Google and Motorola don't seem particularly interested in MicroSD cards these days, but most of the other manufacturers have at least some phones and tablets that still offer expandable storage. If you'd like to pick up a capacious card for your Android device (or anything else), Amazon is offering SanDisk models at a significant discount. This isn't a Gold Box deal, but it is Cyber Monday, so the prices may be good for today only.
