If you have just gotten a Nexus 6 or are waiting for it to appear on your door step, you might want some new apps and games to take it for a spin. Well, you're in luck. There are some great sales on right now, so read on to stock up.
It's definitely not as cool or timeless as that Guardians of The Galaxy deal, it's probably limited to the US or a few countries, it's likely not the most targeted deal for our audience, but we still feel compelled to let you know that Google is offering Lorde's Pure Heroine album for free right now on Play Music.
If this is your jam, you'll be happy to find 10 songs in Lorde's album, including the chart-topper "Royals," and a few other interesting songs like, "Tennis Court," and "Glory And Gore." Unfortunately, this isn't the Extended Release, so you'll be missing out on the catchy, "No Better." I'd better stop typing before I completely morph into Ryan Seacrest.
Andru is probably the most adorable power adapter in the universe. The bugdroid-inspired plug has movable arms, flexible antennae, and light-up eyes (blue means charging, white is for standby), making it a perfect desk charger and about 100 times more dynamic than the average power brick.
The 2.5" adapter has 5V/1A DC output, and normally costs $25 each for an Andru, Andru Dark, Andru Chill, or Andra (pink) unit. In preparation for holiday shopping (or just for fun, who knows?) PowerbyGen is offering all four variants together for just $65, about $35 off the normal price of a full set.
So you know that mixtape that Peter Quill, excuse me—Star-Lord, dances to throughout Guardians of the Galaxy? Well those tunes are currently available on Google Play for free (Update: to people who live in the US). So if you want to be an earthling who feels like a space-traveling superhero who uses these songs to remind him of Earth, now you can do so without spending any money.
We know a good number of you rely heavily on microSD cards. Cloud storage is nice, but they serve as something different, perhaps supplementary to physical memory expansion. So if you're in the market for some more cards to stick into your phones or tablets, Amazon has no shortage of flash memory on sale as today's Deal of the Day. PNY MicroSD cards are ranging from $7.49 (16GB - 40MB/sec) to $29.99 (64GB - 90MB/sec), with varying sizes and speed classes to choose from between the two extremes.
Samsung tablets usually don't do much for me - if I'm not discouraged by the software, then the physical navigation buttons are a major turn-off. But I must admit that the Super AMOLED screens on the Tab S series turn my head every time I see them. If you've been hunting for one of your own, the 10.5" Galaxy Tab S is on sale in refurbished form over on eBay. It's going for $334.99, a full $165 off of the retail price.
Update 11/17/14: The NES30 has been restocked after quickly selling out back in September.
Last weekend we published an exhaustive review of the 8BitDo NES30, a Bluetooth controller designed for phones and tablets with the looks of the original Nintendo Entertainment System but the extra buttons from the Super NES. The reviewer came away impressed thanks to solid functionality, a smart button layout, and a slavish dedication to the classic NES aesthetics.
