You're already a web developer, master of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You have a great idea for an Android App, but your particular skill set doesn't help you create that app. Or does it? O'Reilly media just released a 176-page 2nd edition of "Building Android Apps with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript" by Jonathan Stark and Brian Jepson that explains how to do just that.

This contest is now over.

The newest iteration of AnDevCon (Android Developer Conference) is creeping up on us, and if you want to save some serious cash, now is the time to register. While the event doesn't actually kick off until May 14, 2012, you can stick a solid $550 back in your pocket by picking up your tickets before March 2 - a pretty substantial savings. Unless you don't like saving money, of course.

This contest is now over.

Thanks to our two-dozen (or so) previous book giveaways, you probably now know how to develop for Android. If so, it's probably time to kick your game up to the next level by mastering application security. Luckily for you, O'Reilly Media recently published a new book on the topic, titled "Application Security for the Android Platform: Processes, Permissions, and Other Safeguards." Written by Jeff Six, the book is a concise (112 page) treatise on the subject.

Samsung Mobile USA is quite excited about recently reaching 1 million Facebook followers and is celebrating this event by giving out 30 high-end devices and 100 $50 Media Hub vouchers to anyone who follows them on Facebook and submits an entry form (you can do that once per day).

As a thank you to our one million Facebook fans and counting, we asked you what prize you'd love most... a Galaxy S II, Nexus, or Tab.

If you listen to music on your Android phone (and who doesn't?) then you need PowerAmp. What is PowerAmp, you ask? It's probably the best music player for Android. It's packed with basically every feature you could possibly want in a music player, all wrapped up in a sexy looking package. And we have fifty licenses to give away to fifty different people.

We know, we told you our holiday giveaway series would feature some of our largest contests to date. And it did - we gave away over a dozen tablets and nearly as many phones to our readers. But we thought we'd start the new year off with our biggest giveaway yet (an international one, to boot) - 10 Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphones, courtesy of our amazingly generous friends at AVAST Software.

Now that the holiday season has drawn to a close, a lot of you probably have shiny new Android-powered gifts you're struggling to put down for more than 30 seconds. That also means your brand-new toy might not yet have a case - and we're here to help. Our friends at Amzer have graciously provided 50 of their awesome phone cases to help protect your Android device from the many dangers it will face throughout its life.

Also included are the Captivate Glide and the Exhibit II 4G, all courtesy of our friends at Samsung's Mobile US division. This contest is open to US entrants only (they're US-only devices and Samsung USA is sponsoring, sorry guys).
