Have you ever wondered just how private your data is? How protected your personal info is? For all you know, apps could be running off sharing your phone number, contact log, and device ID to third parties. Or even worse, they could be doing so over an unencrypted connection. I shudder at the very thought.

Fortunately, BitDefender has a new app called Clueful that aims to show users what their apps are really doing behind the scenes and how private their data is. It gives each device a Privacy Score based on the currently-installed apps, along with a simple breakdown of potential risks in three different categories: high, moderate, and low.

When it comes to device protection, Otterbox has long been a trusted name in the case scene. It offers cases with varying levels of protection – everything from the rough-and-rugged Defender Series to the lighter-weight Commuter and Reflex cases – so there's something for just about everyone.

But with the most recent releases for devices like the Galaxy S4, the company is also offering something a bit different: colors. Why be stuck with boring black just to make sure your device has the best protection it can get? With each series there are a variety of colors to choose from to better suit your personal style – be it Wild Orchid, Berry, Glacier White, or some combination in between, there's a color option that should scream "me."

Here's a look at just a few of the new offerings Otterbox currently has going for the GS4:

Like I said, those are just a few of the choices!

A few weeks ago, we highlighted the sexy new V-Moda Metallo Galaxy S III case that takes an incredibly stylish approach to protection. The all-metal frame changes the shape of the GSIII to something a bit more Nokia-ish, as the case sports much sharper edges in comparison to the phone's stock form factor, and the overall look is much more radical than a traditional case.

The Metallo also allows for a unique "headphone amplifier/digital-to-analog converter/battery pack" accessory called the Vamp Verza. This interesting addition matches the overall look of the Metallo case perfectly, though it will cost you a cool $598 if you wish to add that functionality.

In the movie 3:10 to Yuma, Ben Wade (played by Russell Crowe) said "even bad men love their mamas" right after laying trash-talking Pinkerton Byron McElroy to rest (for saying bad things about Wade's mother, of course). I think this paints a pretty true picture: everyone loves their mother; rightfully so – none of us would even be here without our mamas, after all.

And if you want to show your mom how much she means to you this Mothers' Day, there's no better way to do it than with a massive and powerful smartphone. Maybe your mom is still stuck in the old days of the flip phone, or worse – maybe she uses an old iPhone.

Ah, the HTC One – a phone that needs no introduction. A phone that is well on its way to putting HTC back on the map in a big way. The first real contender to the powerhouse Galaxy S4 – and possibly one of the most important smartphones of the year. A phone that might even change the hearts and minds of even the biggest HTC haters out there.

And now's your chance to win one, courtesy of AT&T.

You got your Google I/O ticket. Hotel's booked. Flight's reserved. For all intents and purposes, you're ready for Google I/O 2013. If you need something to do the evening before the event starts, however, Lookout's got you covered. Well, kinda. Lookout has 20 of you (plus one guest each) covered.

Of course, we're talking about Lookout's annual Google I/O Party. Here's the skinny: every year, Lookout holds a pretty killer party for Google I/O with free drinks, food, and giveaways. The guestlist is exclusive, though – if you don't get invited by a Lookout employee or win a ticket in this giveaway, you can't get in the door.

If you're a fan of high quality mobile games, there's a good chance you've at least tried your hand at Gameloft's Modern Combat series. The latest installment – Zero Hourbuilds upon its predecessors to offer some of the most in-depth, graphically rich, immersive gameplay that we've ever seen on a mobile device. It seems like only yesterday graphics like these were considered amazing on consoles – and now they're readily available on phones and tablets. It's kind of crazy when you think about how far the gaming scene has come in such a short period of time.

Any developer (or writer, musician, athlete, parent, human being...) worth their salt is constantly trying to improve their skills. The best way to do that is not only through doing something constantly (read: practice) but also through research, reading, and studying new material. That's why school is a thing that we do.
