Google has just confirmed on the official Play Store Twitter account that carrier billing for Verizon customers will be making its way to handsets in the coming weeks.
Verizon joins Sprint, AT&T (on some devices only), and T-Mobile, all of which have carrier billing, rounding out the US's big four. Read More
Two Ice Cream Sandwich OTA announcements from Verizon in one day? Pinch me. Both the Motorola DROID Bionic (6.7.246) and LG Lucid (ZV7) are set to receive Android 4.0 updates, with the latter's set to go out tomorrow. The timing for the Bionic's bump to ICS hasn't been provided, but considering the Verizon support site documents are up, it should be any day now.
Verizon even provided some pretty pictures to tell you what the respective updates do this time! Read More
Right on schedule, Motorola's Droid RAZR HD (which has already been rooted thanks to Dan Rosenberg) and RAZR MAXX HD have arrived to market. Both devices are now live on Verizon's site along with Amazon Wireless.
As expected, the RAZR HD is available in either white or black for $199.99 on contract from Amazon or Verizon, while the RAZR MAXX HD goes for $299.99.
The G'zOne Command is slated to receive a small maintenance update fairly soon, according to the Verizon Support site. C771M130 is definitely not breaking any major ground, promising that the PIN unlock keyboard now displays correctly, improved keyboard accuracy, and a more sensitive proximity sensor.
As always, updated support documents don't indicate that an OTA is actively rolling out, necessarily, but that it's at least close to being released. So, tap away at that "check for updates" button over the coming weeks. Read More
The rich, laminated oak on an antique writing desk. The captivating sheen on a mug of Bolivian coffee. The slight give as your hand caresses the supple exterior of an exquisitely-tanned saddle. If all these things put you in mind of a new smartphone, then you're a very strange person, and the prime consumer target for the latest flavor of Samsung's Galaxy S III. The "Amber Brown" version of the Galaxy S III is now available directly from Verizon, apparently ready to ship. Read More
Update: If you take a look at the Verizon support doc now, you'll notice Isis support is no longer on the list of new features. Interesting. We've kept an image of the original below for comparison.
If you head over to the Verizon support site right now, you'll find that the DROID Incredible 4G has its first over the air update on the way. You can also check out the software update PDF if you're looking to be slightly disappointed. Read More
We've already seen the RAZR M land on the nation's largest carrier. Now, Verizon is adding the other two RAZRs we knew were coming. The DROID RAZR HD and the DROID RAZR MAXX HD, apart from single-handedly breathing new life into my caps lock key, will be arriving on October 18th. The former will run you $199 on a new two-year contract. If you're looking for some extra battery life from your kevlar-coated phone, the MAXX version will sport a hefty $299 price tag. Read More
Two years ago, Verizon Wireless announced plans to launch a nationwide 4G LTE network. Since then, the company has launched hundreds of LTE markets, and that number keeps growing by dozens every single month. In fact, it will launch its 400th LTE market - Marquette, MI - along with 20 other new markets, on October 18th.
Four-hundred markets is an impressive feat no doubt, but what makes it even more incredible is that VZW is running two months ahead of schedule. Read More
If you're sporting Verizon's variant of the Tab 7.7, then you're probably sick of Honeycomb. Good news for you! The ICS update is ready to go and should begin rolling out in the coming days.
You may recall the collective scream of horror emitted by the Android community when it was confirmed over the summer that the Verizon model of the Galaxy S III would ship with a locked bootloader. As a consolation, Samsung decided to sell an unlocked "Developer Edition" for full price online. While the regular device has since been cracked, it's a lot cleaner to buy the dev version and now it's on sale. Read More
