Dell Streak 7 Probably Landing On T-Mobile February 2nd

While we weren't exactly impressed by the Streak 7 at CES, Dell's upcoming tablet successor to the similarly-named phone may be arriving on T-Mobile rather soon - say, February 2nd. A photo of an internal T-Mobile document (courtesy of TmoNews) taken by the world's worst photographer all but makes official a February 2nd release date for the 4G tablet.

If you'd rather not squint, I'll just quote the text in question:

... Mobile Broadband - Dell Streak 7 Counter Sign ... (NEW for 2/2)

While these are just advertising materials, typically something as substantial as a full kiosk requires you have a working demonstration device to go with it, which usually don't show up until the product is actually on sale.

Samsung Vibrant 4G Is Coming To T-Mobile With A Front-Facing Camera, Full 21Mbps HSPA+, And Froyo

Well, if there was any lesson against being an early adopter, let it be this: TmoNews has gotten ahold of some official T-Mobile slides that give details on the Samsung Vibrant 4G, an update to T-Mobile's version of the Galaxy S that will make any current VIbrant owner cringe:

Full HSPA+ connectivity
Front-facing camera with Qik (not Skype) pre-loaded and still no flash on the rear camera
Android 2.2 Froyo

By full HSPA+ connectivity, I mean that the Vibrant 4G is able to reach download speeds of 21 Mbps (2.6 MB/s) and above, while T-Mobile's current 4G phones, the MyTouch 4G and G2, are limited to 14.4 Mbps, or just under 2 MB/s.

T-Mobile & Dell Officially Announce Dell Streak 7: First T-Mobile 4G Tablet, Coming Soon

Looks like T-Mobile's not planning on resting on its laurels in the 4G tablet wars: they've just officially announced the Dell Streak 7 will be coming in the following weeks. At the same time, they're also promising to increase 4G speeds in the coming year, aiming to double download speeds. Impressive, especially considering just how far behind T-Mobile was in coverage just a few short years ago.

The Streak 7 is an absolutely stunning tablet (from the looks of it), and packs some damn fine specs:

7" WVGA screen (Gorilla Glass)
1 GHz Tegra 2 dual-core CPU
Android 2.2 (*facepalm*) with Market support
5 MP camera around back, 1.3 MP front-facing camera (with Qik)
16 GB memory out of the box
SWYPE

Notably, the tablet will run Froyo, rather than Gingerbread or Honeycomb.

T-Mobile G-Slate, Made By LG, Launching "In The Coming Months," Bringing HPSA+ And Honeycomb With It

Come on, you thought LG was just going to sit there and watch Motorola rip up the Android 3.0 tablet scene?

Quite the contrary - the company has just announced the G-Slate, a HPSA+ Honeycomb tablet headed T-Mobile's way. It's also going to feature the new Google Maps (version 5.0) as well as Google Books and Google Talk.

The closest you'll get to a release date is "in the coming months," and the processor, RAM, display, and other specs have yet to be announced, but we'll be sure to update the post if we happen to come across any additional information.

Motorola Gets Back Into The Low-End Android Game - First Pictures Of The Cliq 2 Leak Out

While Motorola's certainly got a few exciting devices in its pipeline - the dual-core Olympus and the Honeycomb tablet both look extremely intriguing - it looks like the company also plans to launch something considerably less high-end: the sequel to its first Android phone ever, the Cliq.

Cell Phone Signal was sent the above pictures of the Cliq 2, formerly known as the Begonia. As you can see, it features a relatively nondescript profile - not too bulky; not amazingly thin - as well as a honeycomb-like keyboard design. However, I wouldn't get my hopes up for Honeycomb on this phone if I were you - MOTOBLUR is clearly visible in the first two images, and Cell Phone Signal was also told that a January 19th release is likely, as is an official announcement at CES 2011.

As of right now (and I’m willing to bet this won’t last long), T-Mobile is offering members of the T-Mobile Loyalty Program a G2 for free on any qualifying upgrade. Google's Nexus S Now Officially On Sale At Best Buy: $200 With Contract

As promised, Google's Samsung-made Nexus S went on sale today at 8 a.m. at Best Buy stores across the United States (online sales start at 8 a.m. EST). Google's flagship phone - the first to natively run Android 2.3 - retails at $199.99 with a 2-year T-Mobile contract or $529.99 unlocked and without a contract. To promote the release of the phone, Best Buy is offering free overnight shipping if you choose to buy this phone online.

The recently unveiled device is a modified version of the Samsung Galaxy S and sports a 4.0" WVGA "Contour Display" SAMOLED screen, 1 GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, 16 GB of internal storage, HD video playback, a gyroscope sensor and NFC support.

T-Mobile G2 On Sale For Just $49.99 On Contract

The T-Mobile G2 is a great phone that would, no doubt, make a fantastic Christmas gift. But up until now, we haven't been treated to many deals on the device (with the exception of Amazon Wireless' Black Friday sale) - obviously not something holiday shoppers are enthusiastic about. That ends today, however, as T-Mobile itself has just trimmed the G2's price tag by $150, making the final price $49.99 on a new two-year contract. Note that since this is a web exclusive, in-store buyers will still have to cough up $199.99. Nonetheless, if it's shipping you're worried about, fear not, for transportation fees will be nonexistent until December 20th.

Samsung Sells Three Million Galaxy S Devices In The States Alone, Becomes #1 Android Manufacturer In The US

If you thought the news that Samsung shifted more than a million Galaxy Tabs was impressive, just wait 'til you hear this one: the company today announced that over three million of its Galaxy S smartphones have been sold in the US alone. This not only means that Sammy now owns 32.1% of the Android market in the US; it also makes Samsung the #1 supplier of Android devices in the US. Unfortunately, it's clear that the rollout of Froyo hasn't been able to keep up with the devices' sales.

T-Mobile UK Delays Android 2.2 Update For Samsung Galaxy S Devices Yet Again After Announcing It Was Ready

T-Mobile UK is certainly digging itself into a ditch on this one, and seriously pissing customers off in the process. You can't really blame people for being upset: after promising the Froyo update for Samsung Galaxy S owners by November 30 via FOTA, then reiterating just two days ago that the update was ready to roll out, they've now pushed it back at least a week. Turns out they're also not going to be able to do it over-the-air, either - rather, it's going to be installed with Samsung KIES instead. The official post on T-Mobile UK's support forum:
