LG's Oh-So-Secret G-Slate 3D Tablet Shows Up In A Random YouTube Video Yet Again, Shows Off Kickstand (?), Dual Cameras

The G-Slate Honeycomb tablet, announced at CES, was never shown off to the public outside of this weak T-Mobile video which just embedded the official Honeycomb intro into a dark G-Slate frame. Last week, the tablet made a brief and fuzzy appearance in a random Korean music video, seemingly confirming previous rumors of a 3D camera.

Today, we are seeing it again in an even more random creation - a homemade video by MysteryGuitarMan. Dual cameras for recording 3D - check, LED flash - check (though only one), what looks to be a kickstand - check (seriously, nobody has thought of putting a kickstand into a tablet before?

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G To Be Manufactured By Samsung, Rocking Android 2.2.1 In Current Iteration

Been wondering when we'd hear more about T-Mobile's newest Sidekick? If so, today's your lucky day: TmoNews has some new info on the device, and a few blurrycam shots to boot. Perhaps the two most important facts: it will be manufactured by Samsung, and is apparently running Android 2.2.1.

That's not exactly great news, especially for those who had high hopes for the device. Why? Well, because Samsung doesn't exactly have a great reputation when it comes to Android updates, and for good reason. Further, T-Mobile has previously stated that they are committed to keeping their Android devices updated - and yet this phone is running Froyo.

Release Dates For Dell Streak 7, G-Slate, And Galaxy S 4G Confirmed; Streak 7 To Cost $299

Thanks to a leaked slide, some rumored release dates for upcoming T-Mobile 4G devices have been cemented. First up is Dell's Streak 7, which is set to debut on February 2; that will be followed by the Galaxy S 4G on February 23, while the Honeycomb-sporting G-Slate won't be launching until March 23.

Also leaked were two promos for the Streak 7 that nail down an on-contract (presumably) price of $299 - a pretty good deal for two cores and 7 inches of screen real-estate. T-Mobile's 4G lineup isn't lacking for tablets, but a refreshed Galaxy S handset probably isn't going to turn heads when compared to HTC's Thunderbolt or Motorola's Atrix 4G.

Clearing Out Inventory? Samsung Vibrant Free From T-Mobile With New Contract, Expires Tomorrow

Want in on the Galaxy S action but not interested in any features like a front-facing camera or HSPA+? T-Mobile has a deal for you! Now until January 26 at 10:00 pm (PT), the Samsung Vibrant is free with a two-year contract, and is only available online. So, if you really can't wait a few more weeks for the Galaxy S 4G, this is probably the time to act.

Updated: Froyo Update For The Samsung Vibrant Rolling Out Now, Exclusively Via Kies

It appears that T-Mobile is staying true to its word when it comes the Android 2.2 update for the Samsung Vibrant - the much-anticipated software upgrade is now slowly but surely rolling out.

There's a catch, though: it's only available through Samsung's Kies Mini software (which runs exclusively on Windows - sorry, OS X users). We aren't yet sure if/when an OTA update will accompany this Kies Mini version, but here's what we do know: the update's build number is UVKA6, and it contains T-Mobile TV and WiFi calling in addition to all the usual Froyo goodies.

T-Mobile To Launch A Massive Pre-MWC Sale On February 11th - 12th

T-Mobile is planning a huge sale on February 11th and 12th to kick off the new year, TmoNews learned today. According to a memo sent to T-Mo retail stores, "it is expected to be similar to the first half of the Father's day promotion," which reportedly reeled in over 100,000 new customer contracts last year.

Little else can be confirmed about the sale until more information is provided on February 8th, but we can be sure that it will be a knockout because each store is being told to "max out as many employees as possible for the first half of the day."

Curiously, the big sale goes live 2 days before MWC, where we expect to see a flood of mobile related announcements and product launches - clearly, T-Mobile is having the fire sale before it's too late.

Samsung Galaxy S 4G, Android-Powered Sidekick 4G "Coming Soon" To T-Mobile

So it's true: Samsung and T-Mobile have indeed built an HSPA+ version of the Galaxy S, although it didn't cause the Android 2.2 update for their current offering, the Vibrant, to be held back (contrary to what some had assumed).

Unfortunately, we don't know much about the phone yet - in fact, all we've been told so far is that:

It'll be called the "Galaxy S 4G" (not the "Vibrant 4G," mind you).
It will feature full HSPA+ connectivity, meaning that it will be able to reach theoretical download speeds of up to 21 Mbps. Up until now, T-Mobile's HSPA+ devices (the G2 and the myTouch 4G) have been limited to 14.4 Mbps.

Finally - Android 2.2 "Froyo" Update For T-Mobile's Samsung Vibrant To Start Arriving January 21st

In the past few weeks, we've seen multiple accusations portraying Samsung as the bad guy in the Galaxy S Froyo upgrade drama in the U.S. First, there were many delays, followed by the update finally rolling out pretty much everywhere outside the U.S. Then, all anonymous and unconfirmed, an accusation that T-Mo's new Vibrant 4G was the reason for the, possibly indefinite, delay and a report that Samsung charges U.S. carriers for Android updates, later denied by Samsung.

As it turns out, the truth is much less complicated, although we can't say for sure the recent hubbub that undoubtedly did some damage to Samsung's Android reputation didn't accelerate today's events.

If you are in the market for an affordable Android phone, you'll be happy to hear that the new Motorola CLIQ 2 just became available on T-Mobile's site. The device costs just $99.99 on contract and has a $399.99 unsubsidized price tag. Unfortunately, the instant rebate is only going to cover $200, so the other $100 discount will be issued in the form of a prepaid rebate card.

T-Mobile Offering G2 For Free Until The 20th

It isn't often that a US carrier offers one of its flagship handsets for free, but it would appear that that's exactly what T-Mobile is doing with the G2. Starting today and ending January 20th, new or add-a-line T-Mobile customers can snag a G2 from the carrier's online store for $0.00 (that's right, completely free!) with a new two-year contract. Party on!
