Today, a T-Mobile representative emailed us about a big holiday BOGO (buy one, get one free) Black Friday promotion the company is launching this holiday season. This promotion will feature all Android smartphones, the Galaxy Tab, as well as WP7 devices, although it's worth pointing out that the Tab unfortunately does not qualify as one of the free devices.

The BOGO is good for all T-Mobile family plans, including Even More and legacy customers who activate two or more lines, and for those who upgrade at least one eligible line.

The latest carrier to secure a version of LG's newest entry-level phone - the Optimus One - is MetroPCS, the country's fifth-largest carrier. It will be the carrier's first Android phone, and will cost just $229 with no contract and $50 for a monthly plan that grants access to unlimited data, talk, and text. The phone will be available in stores and online on November 24, just in times for the holidays.

Motorola was kind enough to hook me up with one of their latest handsets, the Motorola Defy. Here's a video primer for the review that all your friends will be talking about tomorrow. If you read the review without it, you'll be in the dark:

The Defy is, put quite simply, a great device - and excluding Motoblur, the bane of many Android users' existence, the thing flies. It admittedly doesn't have much "WOW" factor after you're done throwing it at your wall and into a bathtub, but it doesn't really need it.

Verizon has finally announced the Motorola Droid 2 Global on the Verizon Facebook page. It may seem a bit backwards since the pre-order has been going on for a while - but now it's officially official. The D2G will be priced at $199.99 with a new two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate - which means you'll be paying $299.99 upfront.

Unlike the original Droid 2, Global owners will be provided with a SIM card so they can use the phone overseas.

While everyone in the U.S. is awaiting the Black Friday, the largest retail event of the year, RadioShack decided to start the party early and is kicking off its own event called Shack Friday.

Mirroring Best Buy's and Office Max's Black Friday deals, The Shack will be offering Sprint's version of the 7" Samsung Galaxy Tab for $50 off retail, which means you can pick up the device on contract for $349.99.

Even though it's only the third largest network in the United States, Sprint has a habit of cranking out some pretty nice Android devices. With the legacy of the EVO and Epic to live up to, the rumored HTC Knight is going to have to be something pretty special to be considered a true flagship. But will it really be the flagship we're all hoping for? Boy Genius Report got a tip today which adds further confusion to the matter.

Wow... that's the only word I have to describe what Amazon Wireless pulled this morning. Amazon and Wirefly oftentimes offer killer deals compared to the carriers (like yesterday's $50 Droid Pro Wirefly deal), but this one is just ridiculous. All of the Droid phones, including the newly released Droid Pro, are exactly 1 penny over at Amazon Wireless for new Verizon customers:

In addition to the free 2-day shipping and the absence of any tax, all activation fees related to establishing a new account are waived.

An Android Central forums member managed to find the 360° view Flash file for the HTC Merge, and Phil @ AC was smart enough to grab a video of it in action before it was pulled. It's nice to finally be able to see how this guy looks all the way around - a screen and keyboard shot only gets you so far, after all.

A bit gaudy for my tastes, but I'm a simple kind of man.

It's always nice when a manufacturer is nice enough to allow the community to see the source code used to keep device kernels ticking, particularly as this source code can help with troubleshooting and ROM development. They are, to a certain extent, required to do this by the GPLv2 license, but it's still pretty great for all you XDA junkies. Well, if you guys were lusting after the latest source code for the kernels of the T-Mobile G2, the myTouch 4G, or Verizon's Droid Incredible, you can finally stop lurking around, for HTC has, at long last, made the code for these handsets available.
