Update: An anonymous Sprint tipster has told us this deal will only last through April 16th - Sprint is probably trying to clear out its current stock of EVOs and soon-to-be-discontinued devices.

If you were pondering buying a Sprint Android phone this weekend, it may be wise to hold off for a couple more days - Sprint has announced to Phonescoop that devices currently offering mail-in rebates will switch to an "instant savings" model starting Sunday.

According to the latest from ad network Chitika, Android market share is far more lopsided than you probably imagine. That Verizon is the largest is perhaps not surprising, given the data we've seen time and time again. What is surprising is just how much of a lead they have: the company accounts for a whopping 51.4% of the market. Sprint comes in at second with 25.3%, while T-Mobile pulls up third with 16.8%.

Droid-Life has just confirmed what Justin's been hearing: that Verizon's network is having issues. Apparently both 3G and 4G are affected, and Thunderbolt activations are also reportedly being held up. No word on what the issue is or what areas are affected, but Droid-Life has asked readers who are experiencing issues to drop a line with the details in the comments, so that would be a good place to check.

Justin Case and TeamAndIRC have been fielding complaints/accusations/questions from angry rooted Thunderbolt owners who think their root method may be to blame.

After the Sprint press conference officially ended, they quite literally pulled back the curtains to reveal a large viewing area, with a team of Sprint and HTC employees available to demo the HTC EVO 3D and View 4G. While we weren't allowed to get our mitts on the EVO 3D, we were allowed to play with the View 4G a bit. In both cases, the employees on the floor provided a quick hands-on of the devices.

As expected, Sprint just unveiled their upcoming EVO 3D handset and the EVO View 4G tablet. Both devices will have WiMax capabilities on Sprint's "4G" network (there was no mention of LTE, as Sprint is rumored to be transitioning to). No prices were announced today, and the release was announced as "this summer" (we expect a June-July release to compete with the iPhone 5).

As seen in our live blog of the event, the EVO 3D will have a 4.3" stereoscopic (for glasses-free 3D) qHD display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and dual 5MP rear cameras that capture 3D.

Today it has been apparently confirmed that the name will be Droid Charge (not that we ever doubted the original sources). Engadget has obtained the following image, which clearly shows the name of the phone from what appears to be an unknown retailer's internal system:

Have you been itching to get onto Verizon's speedy LTE network but just aren't sure that the HTC Thunderbolt is the right phone for you?

Sprint is leaking like a sieve this week. Just yesterday a search result revealed the Nexus S 4G shortly before its release and today two registration pages popped up on the Sprint website with images of the yet to be announced HTC EVO 3D and the HTC EVO View 4G Tablet.

These pages don't reveal many details about devices themselves, simply allowing you to register your interest for future notifications.

The new G2x dual-core phone with stock Google experience is not the only device getting some attention today in a slew of T-Mobile press releases - both the G-Slate 3D tablet made by LG and the Sidekick 4G made by Samsung finally got pricing information.

First up, the 8.9" G-Slate tablet running Android 3.0 "Honeycomb" will cost $529.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate (ugh). Don't get too excited though - this price is for a 2-year contract, in addition to a voice line (hmm?

While AT&T and Verizon both announced dual-core devices at CES (Atrix 4G and Droid Bionic, respectively), T-Mobile and Sprint have been quiet about their offerings. It was only through accidental leaks that we found out about the LG Optimus 2X, rebranded as T-Mobile G2x, coming to T-Mobile and the EVO 3D coming to Sprint.

Now, after being spotted at CTIA, the G2x really had nowhere else to hide, so T-Mobile decided to finally officially unveil it to the public.
