Samsung Galaxy S7 Active Now Available On AT&T Starting $26.50 Per Month

AT&T announced the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active only 4 days ago and now it's ready to start selling it to you online and at its different retail stores. You'll be able to pick it up today in 3 different colors: Camo Green which you see in the image above, Sandy Gold which looks like it's trying way too much to fit in the desert, and Titanium Gray which is the most inconspicuous and traditional of the bunch. As for the price, you can expect to pay $26.50/month for 30 months on an AT&T Next plan or $33.13/month for 24 months on an AT&T Next Every Year plan (read more about AT&T's new plans here).

Lenovo Announces Moto Z And Moto Z Force, With Verizon Droid Editions Arriving First

So Lenovo, you're not going to let Motorola announce its own stuff anymore, is that it? That certainly seems to be the take-away from the company's reveal at its Lenovo Tech World presentation in San Francisco. In between discussions of new tablets, augmented reality 3D design, and network tech, the much-leaked Moto Z flagship was announced at the event, along with the Moto Z Force. They're both coming in "DROID Editions" only to Verizon, at least initially.

[Deal Alert] Refurbished But Excellent Condition Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus For T-Mobile $378 On Ebay

Some of us like buying our phones brand new, but others don't mind the idea of refurbished. When it's done well, you can save several hundreds of bucks over a flagship device that's still top of its class and capable of handling everything you throw at it. If that sounds convincing to you and you're interested in Samsung's S6 Edge Plus and you're on T-Mobile, then you can't scoff at this eBay deal.

It's a manufacturer-approved refurbished device in excellent working and cosmetic condition. It should only have some minor scratches, but nothing too damaging, and it has passed 65 inspection points.

Verizon Announces Marshmallow Update For Galaxy Note Edge

Android N (Nutella? Nougat?) is edging closer and closer to an official stable release, but that doesn't mean 6.0 Marshmallow is anywhere close to saturation point: according to Android's official monthly distribution numbers, only 10.1% of Android users are using that latest stable version of the OS. That should increase a little bit more in the next week or two, with Verizon announcing the Marshmallow update for its Galaxy Note Edge is ready.

The update brings all the things you would expect of a Marshmallow-based upgrade. Now on Tap is here (which is getting better all the time), as are on-demand permissions and Doze, saving you crucial battery life.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Active Hands-On And Initial Impressions

Now that the primary Galaxy S7 series has regained its water-resistant powers, one might wonder why we need a ruggedized "active" version. And the answer is that, while the S7 and S7 Edge are some damn fine phones, all that delicately curved and exposed glass isn't exactly what you'd call durable. If the general tank-like construction of the Galaxy S7 Active isn't enough to turn your head, consider that it has almost exactly the same capabilities as its more mainstream brother (which is fairly unusual for rugged phones), plus an even bigger 4000mAh battery.

US Cellular Now A Part Of Project Fi's Network

U.S. Cellular is the largest regional wireless provider in the United States, servicing 23 states, and today Google announced its network is now part of the Project Fi super-MVNO. Google says that U.S. Cellular coverage will be rolling out to "all users" in the coming weeks. USC's network utilizes LTE bands 5 and 12, the latter a band common to T-Mobile devices. Band 5 and 12 are, of course, both supported by the Nexus 6, 5X, and 6P.

This announcement brings Project Fi up to three carrier partners: T-Mobile, Sprint, and now U.S. Cellular. If you're curious whether you live in a U.S.

T-Mobile Pulls The BlackBerry Priv From Its Website

The BlackBerry Priv was supposed to be a big step forward for the once-king of smartphones. After having no luck with BlackBerry OS 10, the company launched its first Android phone late last year. The Priv started as an AT&T exclusive, then launched on T-Mobile in late January. Less than five months later, it looks like Tmo is done with the Priv.

AT&T Announces The Galaxy S7 Active, The Latest 'Rugged' Flagship With A 4000mAh Battery, Landing June 10th

Samsung's Active series takes the hardware from its primary Galaxy S phones and wraps them up in big, tough plastic and a water-resistant chassis. The Galaxy S4, S5, and S6 were all given Active variants, and now it's the S7's turn, as previously leaked. While the new AT&T phone hits all the familiar notes from previous generations, a little extra engineering manages to cram an impressive 4000mAh battery inside. With similar specs elsewhere, the S7 Active should last a solid 30% longer than the standard S7 and even a bit longer than the larger S7 Edge.

[Deal Alert] eBay Has A Refurbished Verizon Galaxy Note 4 For Just $205 With Free US Shipping

The Galaxy Note 4 is a little less than two years old now, but Samsung stuffs the Note series so full of high-end technology that it isn't really fair to call it "old." In fact, the Verizon version just got updated to Android Marshmallow earlier this week. The blogging gods must be smiling upon us, because they've offered a serendipitous eBay deal: the same phone, refurbished, for just $204.95. That's approximately five hundred dollars - five and two zeroes - off the original retail price.
