AT&T Resurrects The LG Thrill 4G From The Dead, Gives It ICS

After all these years, two star-crossed lovers have finally found their way back into each others' loving arms. Of course I'm talking about AT&T and the LG Thrill 4G. The two started off as a hot couple, but despite their feelings for each other, they knew it just wouldn't work. After all, one was a major carrier, and the other but a simple smartphone. Still, after months apart, the two rekindled the relationship for a brief fling that resulted in the Thrill getting Gingerbread. Since then, the pair have barely spoken.

Today, AT&T has once again proclaimed its love the Thrill – it's giving it Ice Cream Sandwich.

AT&T Offering Free Nexus 7, Kindle Fire, Sonos Play:3, Or Xbox 360 To Customers Packaging U-Verse Internet With TV Or Voice

If you're a new AT&T U-Verse internet customer (or considering becoming one), listen up – the service provider announced yesterday that it is now offering a selection of devices free when new customers package internet service with either U-Verse TV or Voice. Customers can choose between a Nexus 7, Kindle Fire, Sonos Play:3 (with WiFi bridge), or an Xbox 360. What's more, customers will get access to AT&T's WiFi network free of charge.

While a free Android tablet (or Play:3 or Xbox 360) may not be your primary reason in signing up for brand new lines of service, those in the market for new internet, TV, or voice service who also happen to want a new gadget (Android-powered or otherwise) may find this deal appealing, and would be well-advised to mention the offer when ordering.

[Deal Alert] Amazon Wireless Drops The Optimus G To $50 For New Contracts And Upgrades On AT&T And Sprint

When it comes down to pure hardware (and even the basic design), the Optimus G is essentially a non-stock-Android Nexus 4. AT&T Announces Some New High-Data Plans That You Will Probably Never, Ever Buy

When the entire world (read: Verizon and AT&T in the U.S.) switched to tiered data packages instead of unlimited all the things!, at least 64% of customers panicked. Now where will I get my 35GB of data each month?! was a common quandary that needed to be solved. AT&T has the answer with its new plans.

If you're the type who needs umpteen geebees of data from your wireless carrier, you can satisfy this necessity for the low price of $300 for 30GB, $400 for 40GB, or $500 for 50GB, plus applicable smartphone, tablet, or other connected device fees, of course.

[Update: Now Rolling OTA] Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.2) Now Available For AT&T's Sony Xperia TL

Ice Cream Sandwich may have been good enough for James Bond, but the Android die-hards who nabbed Sony's Xperia TL on AT&T want more. And by "more," we mean "an update to a newer version of Android." Fortunately, that's finally available.

Update: Looks like AT&T just started pushing the update over-the-air if you don't want to deal with flashing it manually. Head into Settings > About Phone > Software update to grab it.

The newest build available for the handset is v9.1.F.1.120, and brings Android 4.1.2 to the mix. The full changelog includes better Sony apps, an improved launcher and camera, and a more organized app tray.

[Update 2: It's Back] AT&T Announces One X Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) Update Is Rolling Out Today

Update 2: The blog post is back, and the update should be rolling out today!

Update: It sounds like the blog post announcing the update was published erroneously, and has since been pulled down. While that's definitely a bit of a disappointment, it does mean that the update should be headed out very soon. Just not today. Bummer.

AT&T just announced that its version of the HTC One X will be receiving an update to Android 4.1 starting today. Here's the brief changelog that AT&T has published, which basically just explains Google Now and the new rich notifications of Android 4.1, along with a tweak to the front-facing camera.

All the HTC One hubbub in New York and London is for naught if you can't get your hands on the phone. So AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint customers in the United States will be glad to hear that their carriers are already confirmed to get HTC's shiny new flagship. Both AT&T and T-Mobile have reached out to us directly with confirmation, and Sprint is listed in HTC's official press release along with regional carrier Cincinnati Bell. Sprint had a sign-up page available briefly, but it seems to have disappeared. Sorry, Verizon users, you'll just have to make do with the DROID DNA for the time being.

AT&T Galaxy Note II Receiving Minor OTA Update To Version MA4, Likely Fixes Exynos Exploit

AT&T's version of the Galaxy Note II is receiving a minor software update this afternoon, presumably patching the Exynos chipset exploit discovered back in December.

The new software version is I317UCAMA4, and the update is 8.45MB in size. AT&T refers to the changes as a "chipset security enhancement," so it's pretty clear that the Exynos exploit fix is probably the major feature of this patch. We've not noticed any other changes as part of the update, and the Android version remains at 4.1.2. It's rolling out to devices now, so be on the lookout.

Want An HTC One VX for V-Day, for practically nothing? Then head to AT&T's website or Amazon, depending upon which color you prefer. Both have the device on sale for $.01 with a new or extended contract, but AT&T has the red version, while Amazon has the white. The regular subsidized price from both retailers for the phone is $49.99. I'd go with the white ( it looks a little more snazzy) but there's no accounting for taste. It's the cheapest we've seen this model, and both phones come with free shipping.

If you need a memory refresh, the One VX is an updated version of the original One S, with a dual-core 1.2Ghz Snapdragon processor, 4.5-inch 960x540 LCD screen,a 5MP camera, Ice Cream Sandwich (with 4.1 Jelly bean promised), and 8GB of storage.

The Galaxy Note's AT&T and T-Mobile (US) variants got their first official CyanogenMod 10.1 nightlies today, just under a month after its younger brother, the Galaxy Note II.
