With the launch of the Galaxy Nexus, there's a good chance that many users left their current carrier to go with Verizon. Since Big Red no longer offers unlimited data plans, keeping tabs on your data usage is an absolute must. For that, Onavo is here to help, and the most recent update to its app makes monitoring your usage even easier.

The new widgets include App Watch, which helps you keep track of how much data is being used an a per-app basis; a data plan used widget, which offers a quick look at where you're at for the month (with percentage used); and a live data usage 1x4 that shows how much data you've used in the last 30 minutes.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and the awesome 10 Billion Apps promo, sadly, reached its final day. I wish it could go on forever and become a regular thing, at least with one app a day -  how about it, Google?

Today, we have 8 new apps/games and 4 repeats. Here they are:

Here are all the days so far if you want to see them again:

Looking to spruce your lockscreen up a bit? The MIUI Team is bringing a new flavor to the lockscreen arena, simply called MiLocker.

MiLocker looks to compete with offerings such as WidgetLocker and GO Locker as your lockscreen replacement, and after spending just a few minutes with it, I can say that it's quite nice - enough so that it will most likely become my primary lockscreen replacement (at least for a while).

Google Translate just got a little update that brings big functionality: the ability to recognize written words in seven different languages. The previous version allowed for text and spoken input only, so this update adds just another method to the mix.

You may be asking yourself why is this a big deal? This is a useful feature partly due to the fact that it can translate Chinese and Japanese, which both use characters that are uncommon to English keyboards.

If you're not familiar with Microsoft Lync, don't feel bad - I had no idea what it was before today, either. Makes sense, because I don't work in an environment where Lync is used (or would be useful), but for those who do, it's actually pretty cool. In a nutshell, it's an IM/contact management/VoIP client used for Exchange - think MSN Messenger with a GTalk twist built for the corporate environment .

We've all certainly been waiting quite a while for PvZ and Peggle to shed their Amazon Appstore exclusivity and land in the Android Market. That day has finally arrived, but it's not all good in the hood - in typical EA fashion, many users are getting the old "your device is not supported" crap when trying to install either game.

In case you don't recall, the original creator of both games, PopCap, was purchased by EA for a cool $1.3 Billion back in July.

A new game listing hit the Tegra Zone earlier today, introducing The Dark Meadow – a sophisticated entry into the first person action/adventure genre, built on Unreal Engine 3 and optimized for your Tegra device.

Update 12/14/11: Official Android teaser:

Here's a trailer from the iOS version:

With The Dark Meadow, Phosphor Games Studio submerges players in a "dark fairytale world filled with fantastical creatures bent on destroying them." Certainly, dark is a bit of an understatement – the environments and characters look downright disturbing.
