There is no shortage of launcher replacements for Android, but once in a while a new one comes along and takes the launcher experience to a new level. Such is the case with TSF Shell Pro, a new launcher currently in development by a team of developers who call themselves C3D. TSF, their brand, stands for The Special Forces, and special they are - just take a look at what the team cooked up.

This message is brought to you by the Anti-Lizard Society who would like to remind all lizards that squashing virtual ants on their smartphones is a much better substitute for real-life violence and would like to donate a number of Android device to the annual Ant Squashing competition.

Last Updated: March 12th, 2012

Google has started pushing out a new Market update with version 3.4.4, which upon quick inspection operates faster than before and brings a setting for auto-adding of widgets to your home screen.

If you missed the changes in the previous major update v3.3.11, read about them here. A minor update v3.3.12 is here.

Note that I did say widgets, not app icons, though according to early tests, it's still icons that are being added and not widgets.

Monopoly, a game that needs no introduction, has finally made its way to the Android Market. Initially, it was available exclusively from the EA store, and, more recently, the Amazon Appstore.

The game brings the same classic board-style gameplay that we all know and love to our mobile devices. It offers a nice 3D environment, as well as enhanced gameplay over the physical board game, along with the ability to play against friends or the computer.

A pretty major update for Skype just made its way into the Android Market, bringing a few new features and improvements along with it. Among said features is the ability to send pictures, videos, and other files to during conversation - a pretty cool option, no doubt. The Skype team has also improved the look and feel with new graphics, as well as improved the sign in/sign out process (which includes auto-sign in).

Day eight of the 10 Billion Apps promo is upon us, and today we have only 5 6 7 (thanks, Hugo, rampagedeluxe) new apps compared to 8-10 that we've been seeing until now. Looks like Google is really running out of options, but alas - here they are:

Here are all the days so far if you want to see them again:

BOLT Browser, which touted tabbed browsing and high speeds in an effort to provide a capable replacement for Android's stock browser, has been discontinued due to economic circumstances, according to the app's website:

The news came earlier today as BOLT's listing in the Android Market vanished, and the app's website closed down, leaving only the above note. While BOLT may not have been the most robust browser solution for Android, it's always a little sad to see an app go like this, especially considering the fact that BOLT debuted only a couple of months ago.

little empire
Last Updated: April 16th, 2012

Recently, I picked up Little Empire, and while it does have a few technical issues, I can't seem to put it down. In fact, I normally get bored of new games pretty quickly, but I've probably logged a solid 5 hours of gameplay within the last 2 days. Being a ruthless king is hard work, you know.

First Things First

Camel Games describes this game as the "World's first LBS (Location Based Services) mobile MMO." While I can't be entirely sure this is actually a world first, it definitely is worth mention.

Ready to hear some oh-so shocking news? Okay, here it comes - Facebook is the most launched app on Android. Well, if you want to get technical about it, Facebook isn't really the most launched app - it actually shows up in the list right behind the Android Market, but considering the Market is the gateway to all other apps (including Facebook, in most cases), it's pretty safe to omit it.
