You can always rely on Gamevil to create engaging little games that will eat up your free time. In that spirit, Gamevil has released a new game on Google Play called Freekick Battle. This title has easy-to-master controls and a single goal: to err... score goals. All that other soccer stuff is out the window, though. All you're doing here is taking free kicks. It's just you and the defenders.

The controls are very simple, so after a few minutes you'll get the hang of it.

If you keep up with the wider electronics world, you know that Apple has introduced a proprietary streaming protocol for its computers and mobile devices called AirPlay. If you're one of the surprisingly large number of people who combines Apple and Android hardware, you'll want to check out Android HIFI, the pet project of an XDA Developers member. The app turns your Android device into an AirPlay receiver, allowing you to play music or standard audio from Mac or iOS hardware.

Chase customers who use the bank's official Android app to stay on top of their banking on the go received an update recently, bringing the banking app up to version 2.7 and adding a few very handy enhancements.

Perhaps the most notable enhancement brought by the new update is the ability to scroll through up to 24 months of transactions related to Chase deposit accounts. The update also adds significant functionality for Chase Liquid customers (Liquid being the bank's reloadable ATM card service), including the ability to view account info, transfer money to your account, and use Chase QuickDeposit.

Script Kitty has actually been around for a while, but after receiving its 2.0 update last week, it's now a serious contender for one of those must-have apps (at least for anyone with an ssh-enabled server). I downloaded and set it up in a matter of a few minutes (including generating an RSA key for key-based auth and adding said key to a few Linux servers), and now have a stupid easy way of doing certain things very quickly without having to even resort to ConnectBot.

If you love ESPN but are angry because Comcast won't let you watch it on your phone through the WatchESPN app, your luck just changed. The most recent update to the app fixes that exact issue: it now allows Comcast customers who get ESPN as part of the TV package watch the channel on their smartphone or tablet.

That's really the only major difference with this update - aside from the always-included bug fixes, of course.

There are few limits to things you can make your phone do with the power of Tasker. Everything from simple automation to some of the most complex things imaginable can be handled by the app, making it one of the most versatile on Android. Now, thanks to a new app called AutoRemote, it just got even more powerful.

With AutoRemote, you can execute commands remotely - from your desktop, laptop, tablet, another phone...

Space-inspired physics games have been given a boost thanks to Angry Birds Space. If you're looking for something with a little more drama and a little less pig, then New Orbit might be right down your gravity well. The 99¢ game from rookie developer Blackish combines Asteroids-style navigation, gravity-driven physics and an ambitious if not overly promising story. On that note, the full title is "NEW ORBIT: Episode 1," so there's probably more on the table.

Look, no one likes flying. No one. With the possible exception of that guy who's racked up a billion airline miles and takes a round trip from JFK to Dubai just to get free cocktails. But since you've got to fly now and then, it's nice to have an aesthetically enjoyable way of keeping tabs on your flights and connections. Mobiata has a new, free version of the FlightTrack app, which is more than you can say for the dry sandwiches on your last non-stop Delta flight.

We saw a brief hint recently for Gameloft's upcoming game based on the Unreal Engine. A single still image showed a man holding a giant sword, covered in blood, as he stood alone in a field of his enemies' remains. Yeah. Awesome. Well, now Gameloft has unveiled a trailer for the game that teaser teased. Watch it. Now.

Yeah, this looks kinda big. And by that, I of course mean "really big." Gameloft is touting this as its "first Unreal game." I suppose that means Gameloft's other first Unreal Engine game is going to be pushed back to being released second.

Google Translate, the frequently-overlooked wonder app of the 3rd millennium, got some new features today. Chief among them is an amazing new image-based translation mechanism. The app now supports use of your camera to take a picture of the text you would like to translate. Once that's done, just "brush" over the word or phrase you need to read and Translate will do what it says on the tin: render that text in your preferred language.
