Tower Defense is probably one of the most populated genres in mobile gaming, or at least it seems that way. There are tons of games in this style to choose from, so it's rare to see something that changes things. Jelly Defense from Infinite Dreams attempts just that, putting a whimsical, almost cute touch on the genre of tower defense.

The game starts off with a brief intro story about the peaceful nation of jelly inhabitants in which the game takes place.

Want to know which online service makes my life a lot easier? Hipmunk. For the uninitiate, Hipmunk is a flight search service with a difference. In addition to sorting available flights by the standard duration and price metrics, Hipmunk can also arrange flights according to "agony", i.e. incorporating factors such as number of stops and total duration. Although its mobile site is adequate, I am pleased to report that Hipmunk has finally launched its Android app, which is available for free from the Market.

Popular Android game developer HandyGames has released a sequel to its well received Guns'n'Glory tower defence game called Guns'n'Glory WW2. The original Guns'n'Glory was a Wild West themed game that put you in charge of mobile units which you had to place in strategic position in order to ambush settlers, stagecoaches and "the gold train". The original game took the concept of a tower defence game and put an intriguing spin on it by allowing the enemy units to fight back.

Skype for Android, an app that gets almost as much love as it does hate, was updated to version 2.5 a few minutes ago. Because the last update unofficially opened up Skype to all 2.2+ devices, this time around Skype simply listed 13 more devices as whitelisted and approved for video chat capabilities:

  1. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (T-Mobile)
  2. HTC SHOOTER (KDDI)
  3. Sony Ericsson Xperia Live with Walkman
  4. Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V
  5. Acer Iconia Tablet (A500)
  6. LG Optimus Black LANDSCAPE ONLY
  7. LG Optimus 3D LANDSCAPE ONLY
  8. LG Optimus 2x LANDSCAPE ONLY
  9. Motorola Photon
  10. Motorola Droid3 LANDSCAPE ONLY
  11. Motorola Bionic LANDSCAPE ONLY
  12. Motorola Xoom
  13. Motorola Atrix

Notice how the list contains 13 devices, even though the changelog says 14.

Flickr is finally available in the form of an App for Android, a mere two years after the photo sharing service made its app debut on iOS.

The app includes a built-in camera interface with focus and flash adjustments, as well as filters and effects for editing photos on the fly.

Flickr's Android app also allows for sharing via your Flickr account, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or email. Users can also browse their photo stream, contact photos, or profile, and utilize a feature called "infinite scrolling," in which all your photos are displayed on one page.

We've all been (or will be, at some point) in this situation: you're sharing expenses with your roommates, when suddenly no one has the funds to cover a particular bill. It's unclear who is supposed to be responsible for the unpaid bill, but, because of one person's shortsightedness, it's up to everyone else to make up the difference.

Not a fun scenario to be a part of, trust me. Fortunately, we live in a tech-powered world, and with the increased popularity of smartphones, communication and organization is easier than ever.

Update: If you've been itching to try this workaround on a non-T-Mobile phone, then now's your chance. The Snozzy dev has added experimental support for AT&T and Sprint, and untested support for Verizon, Virgin, Cricket, Straight Talk, US Cellular, and Viaero. Since the latter group is completely untested, there's a good chance that it will be extremely buggy, if it even works at all. If you decide to give it a go, make sure to drop us a line and let us know how it turns out!

If you've dreamed of being a renegade cop ready and willing to bend all the rules in order to put a stop to street crime, then Gameloft's newest title 9mm is the game for you.

You play the part of aptly named John "Loose" Kannon as the head of a special taskforce of like-minded cops set on ridding the town of crime, regardless of what measures need to be taken. You end up on the wrong side of the law after killing a drug lord's brother and stealing millions of dollars, becoming the target of every gangbanger in the city.
