[New App] Microsoft Releases Tablet-Only Version Of Dynamics CRM For Some Reason

There's a new app from Microsoft on Android. Are you excited? Well, only a select few of you will remain so. The new arrival is Dynamics CRM for tablets, which joins the previously released CRM for phones. Look Microsoft, it's not that we don't appreciate the attention you're paying to Android, but why is this a separate app?

Dynamics CRM for tablets does the same thing the phone counterpart does.

[New Game] Ubisoft's Motocross Physics Title Trials Frontier Comes To Android With A Geographically Limited Pre-Release

Trials is a series of motocross games that takes a liberal approach to sports and, incidentally, gravity. The latest full release, Trials Fusion, saw an iOS counterpart called Trials Frontier. This slightly more cartoony take on the long-running series features the same physics-based racing and orientation gameplay - imagine it as a single-lane, dialed-up version of Excitebike. The Android version was just released, but only in certain locations. We're not sure where, we just know that it isn't the US.

Amazon Appstore Android App Updated To Version 9 With Carrier Billing Support In Select Countries

The Amazon Appstore Android App received an update to version 9 earlier this month that introduced carrier billing. This feature will enable some users to add app purchases to their mobile bill at the end of the month rather than supply Amazon with a credit or debit card. The option is only available in select countries.

Unfortunately, that's all we know about the feature. Its addition doesn't come as a surprise in and of itself, given the company's movements in that direction over the past few years, but we haven't come across any details.

[New Game] Warner Bros. Releases Edge Of Tomorrow Game That Shows How To Take A Tagline Too Seriously

Live. Die. Repeat. That's the tagline for Warner Bros.'s upcoming film, Edge of Tomorrow, and the movie tie-in game takes this to heart. The game consists of one-part living, two-parts dying, and one-part repeating. Rinse, repeat, and you have yourself an experience that's roughly the same as any other game out there, just more overt about it.

Edge1

The game is a first person shooter that manages to take the mindless shooter formula and dip its IQ by a few more points.

Gmail For Android Reaches 1 Billion Downloads, This Event Has Been Archived

Next month will be the two-year anniversary of Gmail becoming the most widely used email service on the planet. While it remains the uncontested champion, the Gmail app for Android struck its own accomplishment last week as it became the first conventional app in the Play Store to reach 1 billion downloads. Technically, the Google Play services package crossed the same mark back in January, but it is automatically installed on any device equipped with the Play Store and running Android 2.2 or higher.

[New Games] NVIDIA Releases The SHIELD Versions Of Portal And Half-Life 2 At The Same Time

It's a good day to be an NVIDIA SHIELD owner. Valve's Android ports of PC shooter classics Portal and Half-Life 2 just dropped in the Play Store for $10 a pop. They're only for the SHIELD (even other devices with the Tegra 4 chipset aren't invited to the party), which is a bit of a mixed blessing - these games really require a full controller to play.

Valve teased an Android release for the 2007 classic Portal way back in March, but we only heard about the Half-Life 2 port last week (via crowbar).

15 Hauntingly Beautiful Dark And Atmospheric Android Games

While there is no shortage of puzzle and arcade games on the Android platform, it can be easy to get drawn into the mainstream hits like Angry Birds and Cut The Rope. The first time I stumbled onto a "darker" game, I had downloaded World Of Goo as part of a Humble Bundle, and was instantly mesmerized by its graphics and sounds. There was something hauntingly beautiful about it, and I ended up on the Play Store looking at the "Similar Apps" and "Users also installed" sections.

PSA: Offline Google Maps Now Expire After 30 Days, But It Will Prompt When Cached Maps Are Out-Of-Date

For those who may not know, Google Maps has an offline feature. It's not all that useful (it doesn't allow saved locations to be searched nor does it provide directions/navigation - it's essentially a paper map on a small screen), but it's still a thing that may be useful to someone at some point. Assuming you think ahead and actually save a map of the location in which you may need for it to be offline, of course.
