We've all been in this scenario before: you're in a coffee shop, library, or some other public place with your headphones on/earbuds in, jamming your favorite tune, when someone comes up and starts talking to you. Yes, they can see the buds in your ears, but they talk anyway. It doesn't matter that they're just going to have to repeat themselves after you grab your phone and pause the music - they have something to say.

EA and Hasbro, adding another entry to Monopoly's long history, recently released another version of the classic board game – Monopoly Millionaire. If the name of the game isn't descriptive enough, it's a game of Monopoly where the first player to reach $1,000,000 wins.

To reach $1 million, players are encouraged to "trade properties on the sly, force powerful deals, and risk it all in a dash for a million in cash." We are, of course, talking Monopoly cash here, but the concept is still fairly compelling for a mobile board game.

Gameloft has figured out what's been missing from most of its recent games. No, it's not a business model that relies on something other than in-app purchases. Gameloft just hasn't been bringing enough cute to your phone. Well, they're setting that straight with Littlest Pet Shop, a game so overflowing with cute that you won't be able to resist giggling and clapping your hands like an 8 year-old girl.

As we all know, the cuteness of animated characters is directly proportional to the size of their eyes.

It seems to be a really good couple weeks for platforming fans. After the positive review we gave Pizza Boy last week, Paper Monsters is next on our docket. This 3D platformer is relatively simple - in a good way - and looks to be a cheap and well-polished title for Android.

The Premise

Platformers tend to be at their best when they're not overly complicated. The mechanics need to be easy to pick up and execute, in order to pave the way for the complicated environments you will use them in.

Melesta Games' Toy Defense, a tower defense-style game that's already found a home on iOS, made its way to Android today, bringing with it a familiar tower defense dynamic with turrets and enemies pulled straight from your childhood toy chest.

If you've played other tower defense games, you know what you're in for with Toy Defense – defend your "tower" using various upgradeable turrets, weapons, etc. as wave after wave of enemies march through.

At the end of October, Rockstar Studios announced that the mobile version of its smash-hit Grand Theft Auto: Vice City would be coming to Android and iOS. Now, it has announced an official release date of December 6, with a $4.99 price tag across all platforms.

The release marks the 10th anniversary of a game many remember from the Xbox and Playstation 2. This version will be enhanced for mobile screens, including updated character models, lighting, and different control options that should make the experience as smooth as possible.

Since Android 4.2 introduced native lockscreen widgets, we've seen several devs already push out updates to their apps with support for the feature. The latest to do so is LevelUp Studio, which updated its Twitter client Plume. This is actually my personal favorite when it comes to Twitter clients on Android, especially for tablets. So I was pretty glad to see the 4.2 lockscreen widget show up.

The update also brings a few other fixes and enhancements to the app:

- add a lockscreen widget on Android 4.2
- fix the widget context on Android 4.2
- fix the display of the DM recipient
- fix Facebook timeline not updating in some case
- fix unread list item appearing multiple times
- improve the picture cache coherence
- make Halloween notification sound available all the time

Plume is, of course, a free app in the Play Store, though there's also a $5 premium version available for those who prefer an ad-free experience.

It's been a couple months in coming, but the first in an episodic series of Avengers games is live on the Play Store now. In case you've forgotten, this edition features the Hulk, leading the effort to round up a number of supervillains that escaped during a breakout of The Vault. To celebrate the launch, Marvel and NVIDIA are offering the game for a special promo price of $4.99 (normally $6.99).
