Sony Ends Support For The PlayStation Mobile Game Store, Reminding Everyone That It (Briefly) Existed

In what will surely be a crushing blow to at least four, maybe five gamers across the globe, Sony has announced that it is ending support for its branded PlayStation Mobile game store and platform. If you'll recall, that's the app and control setup that is (or was) exclusive to Xperia phones and tablets, plus a few select models from HTC and Sharp. In a statement posted to the Japanese PlayStation website, the company said that devices running versions of Android past 4.4.3 would not be supported.

Google Hands-Free Shows Up Again, This Time In Google Search

Quite a while ago, we wrote about an upcoming hands-free (and eyes-free) interface code-named KITT. The interface - intended for use in the car or in other places where looking at your phone isn't wise - would be stripped down, displaying a black screen and large iconography, and would have the ability to read notifications aloud, among other things. More recently, an icon for an app called Google Hands-Free showed up in a promotional gif posted to Google's Google+ page, hinting that the service was still under development.

WordPress App Updated To Version 3.0 With Swiping Between Posts, Auto-Updates, And More

The official WordPress app for Android got a significant bump to version 3.0 today. Users who host a free blog on WordPress.com will see the greatest benefit from the added features, but just about everyone will see something new, and the bug fixes don't hurt either. The app doesn't have much to show in the user interface department, though it's been pretty solid since the Holo redesign in any case.

[New App] Hyper-Specialized Image Editing App 'Over' Brings Its Text And Clip Art-Adding Abilities To Android

Sometimes the secret to success is to pick one thing and do it well. You could easily make the presumption that "image editing" may count as a thing, but in this case, think even more specific. Over is an app that specializes in letting users place text or basic artwork on top of their photos.

Seriously, that's all it does. And it's done it well enough to attract millions of users on iOS and, according to TechCrunch, a million in funding (which the developer reportedly turned down).

Talon's 2.6 Update Flies In With A New Icon, Compose Window, Font Option, Themes, And More

Talon updates often come with big changelogs, and version 2.6 is no exception. Klinker Apps has managed to cram quite a bit of enhancements into this release. The top items concern changes to the appearance, such as a new app icon, a tweaked compose window, and two downloadable open source themes inspired by the "L" preview version of Talon. These are joined by an "L" Roboto font option under settings that, unlike the themes, doesn't require installing anything extra.
