Imagine leading a team of highly trained special-ops on a mission to save the world from an evil villain bent on mass destruction. Now imagine those trained professionals have incredible super powers that make them unstoppable. What could possibly make that scenario more awesome? Super seals, that's what. Roll that all into one and you have the premise behind Seal Force, a unique line-drawing game by Nordisk Film Interactive unlike anything else I have ever come across.

I've had an odd interest in the undead for as long as I can remember, and I could make a hipster-esque statement and say that I thought zombies were badass long before anyone else did, but I won't go that far. I've been planning for some sort of zombie apocalypse for quite a while now, so if anything starts to go down, you'll probably be safe with me. Needless to say, I'm also in love with any sort of zombie game and when one comes my direction, it goes up against hard criticism.

The stock ICS is browser is the best stock Android browser to date, there's no doubt about that. However, it's not perfect - it's actually missing one crucial setting: UA string switching. On the other side of the table, it brings a killer feature over from Honeycomb (found in settings > labs) called quick controls. Once enabled, the URL bar will disappear, giving you more screen real estate for browsing. To access the settings menu, address bar, tab bar, etc., a simple tap on either side of the screen will bring up a circular menu with all of the options right there.

There are many reasons why you may need to keep an eye on what's going with your bandwidth at any given moment, especially while on a cell network. Perhaps you need to monitor a download that's going on in the background, or maybe you just need to make sure that no apps are hogging data without permission. Whatever the reason, if you've been searching for an easy to way to address this issue, we've found the solution: Network Monitor Mini.

We know, we told you our holiday giveaway series would feature some of our largest contests to date. And it did - we gave away over a dozen tablets and nearly as many phones to our readers. But we thought we'd start the new year off with our biggest giveaway yet (an international one, to boot) - 10 Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphones, courtesy of our amazingly generous friends at AVAST Software.

After getting a glimpse of Avast's new mobile security solution a few weeks ago, I just had to dive in and give the app a full review. Avast, the long-awaited marriage of Avast and IT Agents' Theft Aware (see our review), certainly doesn't disappoint. It has an insane number of features, all of which appear to work perfectly, and it sounds like things will only be improving with time.

And did I mention the full-featured, root-enhanced app is completely free with no paid version in sight?

If your new year's resolution is to kill more time playing games on your Android device (that's mine, anyway), then Gameloft is all ready to give you the hookup beginning on December 29th, when all of their games will be dropped down to mere $0.99 in the Market. The one exclusion to this deal is Modern Combat 3 - it will, however, go on sale for one day (though they didn't mention the price).

Having the ability to access your desktop or laptop computer from your mobile device is one of the easiest ways to ensure you always have the files that you need, and Splashtop's remote desktop software is on sale today in the Amazon Appstore for $0.99 to help you do just that.

Update: Looks like it's free at GetJar. Save yourself a buck and pick it up from there. Thanks, Brandon!

Who's ready for some old-school gaming action? If not, you better get ready - Sonic the Hedgehog and his homie Tails are making their way to Tegra-powered devices in 2012 for a sequel to the 2010 hit Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Episode 1 (which, unfortunately, is not available on Android).

Episode 2 will bring some enhanced features over its predecessor, including a completely redesigned physics engine, new character animations, and, most importantly (to us, that is), the arrival on the Android platform.

Ah, Words With Friends. What was once one of the most anticipated games on Android quickly becme one of the most hated due to its bug-laden nature and lack of good support. The app has now received another update that NOT only brings "loads of bug fixes" - call me skeptical, but I'll believe that when I see it - but a new Words with Friends store. Yeah, a store.

So, what kind of things can you buy from this store?
