The recent Chrome Beta for Android update was notable for including password and form sync, but it turns out there is another feature lurking beneath the surface, and it's potentially a big deal. Google has built in a data compression proxy for Chrome that can reduce bandwidth usage by up to 50% on mobile networks. You'll have to do a little digging through the Chrome flags, but it's relatively easy to switch to the fast lane.

The original Worms landed on the Play Store way back in early 2011 (when it was still the Android Market), but the launch was far from perfect. Device compatibility was lacking, and force closes all too common. A while back, the game was actually removed from the Play Store.

In fact, it was the Worms franchise's new owner that requested it be taken down. According to Team 17 Digital, EA was "not supporting OS updates," and the company asked for the game to be removed because it "didn't want to damage the brand." Yikes.

I'm not sure we even have enough wat for this, but let's give it a go. Snoop Dogg—that is to say, the previous incarnation of the entity now known as Snoop Lion—will soon be appearing in a rhythm fighting game on Android called 'Way of the Dogg.' Developed by Echo Peak and under development for two years, the title will show "how we evolve as individuals." Plus, "[Echo Peak has] incorporated the journey of my own personal reincarnation as Snoop Lion into my character," says the rechristened rapper in a ringing endorsement.

In honor of its first full year distributing games on the Play Store, Square Enix has placed its most recent Final Fantasy release - Final Fantasy Dimensions - on sale for just $9.99, a savings of $10.

With an average rating of 4.4 stars and nearly 800 reviews, Dimensions is easily among Square Enix's best-reviewed titles on Android. Whether you're a Final Fantasy nut, or just love RPGs crafted in the old 2D style, this sale is definitely worth taking advantage of.

If you're looking for something new in the stagnating world of tower defense, this is it. City Conquest turns the genre on its head, by forcing players to defend their own territory and attack others simultaneously, with a combination of real-time and turn-based gameplay. It's a bit hard to wrap your head around, but trust me, the experience is well worth the effort. City Conquest is a free download in the Play Store (ad-supported, no in-app purchases) for devices running Android 4.0 or later with a resolution of at least 960x720.

Everyone's favorite mesh networking startup Open Garden today announced its 2.0 refresh at LAUNCH festival, having allegedly already served 2.1 million installs since version 1.

Readers would be forgiven for not remembering exactly what Open Garden is, or why it's interesting – we last covered the app in its beta stage.
