One of the perks of the many Humble Bundles is that they bring games to platforms they didn't exist for previously. Linux gamers know what I'm talking about, as their operating system of choice has been relatively flooded with games since the original Humble Indie Bundle first brought Aquaria, Gish, Penumbra, and other titles to the platform. Android isn't nearly as desperate for quality games, but Time Surfer entered the Play Store a few weeks ago following its Humble Mobile Bundle debut, and now Star Command has done the same. Read More

Several days ago, I started a series of rumor posts on my personal Google+ account discussing some Android rumors I felt were interesting enough to share, but didn't feel confident enough yet to do so here on the site. The posts were heavily prefixed with disclaimers that none of them may turn out to be true but that I had a certain level of confidence to talk about them in public unofficially. Read More
Cloud storage providers like Dropbox, SugarSync, and Google Drive all have free apps available in the Play Store, but none of these sync up with folders saved on your Android device's internal memory the way their desktop clients do. For that functionality, look no further than FolderSync. This aptly named app can sync folders with over ten different cloud storage services, and version 2.5 adds another option, Copy.com, to the list. Read More

People love real-time strategy games. They're immensely immersive, as it's almost a necessity to create elaborate worlds in order to conjure up enough units to make the game worth playing. WarCraft's universe was captivating enough to spawn an MMORPG that has since enthralled millions of players worldwide. Some long-time gamers may scoff at the idea of mentioning Clash of Clans in the same breath as such a proven franchise, but with leagues of players using mobile devices and a free-to-play model, it somewhat embodies what a modern day take on the real-time strategy genre would be, and now the smash hit title has made its way over to Android. While we receive seemingly endless notifications throughout the day, relatively few applications provide support for DashClock to display that information. This is where DashNotifier comes in. It leverages the NotificationListener service added in Android 4.3 to read and display notifications from selected applications as if they had provided extensions of their own. Read More
Samsung was the target of extensive hate recently as it came to light that the Note 3 and other high-end devices would be sporting a new region lock designed to cut back on gray market importers. The company said the lock was only a problem the first time a phone was activated, but some users now claim to be having ongoing issues with foreign SIMs not working. Whether or not Samsung's region lock is working as intended, noted developer Chainfire has released an app that can circumvent the lockdown entirely. Read More
